Well, first let's get the rant at Trevor Kettle out of the way first. I've had a bit of time to calm down. How is this man still refereeing at a professional level? He is consistently diabolical. .

I'm sure i read a similar thread a couple of years back. It was alleged at the time, that his father-in-law was quite 'high up' somewhere in the FA?. If fact, then maybe that's why the guy is still around.

No good blaming the ref, we were lucky to get a point. We could and should have been dead and buried by half time. There were some tired legs out there. The side needs Leonard back just in front of the back four, neither Timlin or Laird seem comfortable there. At times neither were there.

Cheltenham had done their homework and were able to get the ball in behind the full backs at will. McGlashan has caused us problems before and he revelled in the space he had in first half. Definitely a point gained today.

Maybe that explain why Ron Martin storm to the pitch, at least he care lol

Just made himself look as pathetic and boring as all the managers and some fans who seem to feel that it is always the referee's fault if their team fails to win. Stats show that in most matches the referee gets over 90% of the decisions correct, today, Kettle just about achieved that.

Presume you are referring to our players with 'tired legs'?. Dont disagree with you, but never really been able to fathom this excuse.
Cheltenham played in the week as we did, so maybe they were fitter. If that is the case, then perhaps Phil Brown should consider more strenuous training sessions?.

If we had been attacking, if we had the ball in their half - we would have won. But we try and defend and sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't . Today it didn't. Promotion chasing teams kill off opposing teams. We are close, but not there yet.

Reading through the threads and our performances the last few games ,i think its time to give a few of the players a deserved two weeks rest and freshen them up again, especially Corr and a couple of the midfielders.

The unbeaten run continues. Probably ably assisted by lady luck but who cares? Some teams will be able to negate our game. Most wont. The team gives its all and we cant ask for more. We will win more than we draw or lose.

We have worked our nuts off with 10 men for probably an hour of the the last 3 that we have played, and that may have caught up with some of the players today. We looked very tired and were lucky to get a point.

Rest a few for the cup next week, then go again away at Torquay.

Could arguably say that Chesterfield game should be as important if not more. Win there and we could get a real money spinner in the 3rd round. While Torquay are on an awful run of form sitting bottom of the league.

After the Torquay game, we then have a key game against Rochdale who are also in the hunt for promotion.

I do wonder if he continues the way he has been playing for the rest of the season if we will be able to hang onto Dan Bentley. Can see a bid coming our way for him in the summer. Don';t think they'll be a pre-contract in January.

Well said how anyone (see other threads) can think "Mr Kettle" was anything other than biased I don't know. And I mean biased, used to incompetence, this was ridiculous.

Corr fouled at every opportunity, given offside at least 3 times wrongly in the second half. Booked for scoring after the whistle but the Chelts player wasn't when he did the same.

Atkinson booked for god knows what.

Straker booked for standing by the ball when it was being taken out of position.

Straker pushed in the box and the ball hits his hand. Kettle wasn't even properly sighted.

Ron Martin on the pitch trying to get to Kettle at the end. Kettle is the biggest tosser on this earth.

Just seen the match stats -

We had 47% possession, they had 53%.

We had 8 shots, 3 on target, they had 17, 6 on target.

We had 3 corners, they had 8.

Anyone still think a draw was about right?

Cheltenham weren't 1-0 up with 15 mins to go. Corr scored about 5 seconds after the whistle had been blown.

Atkinson wasn't booked at all. Prosser, Corr and Straker were.

Straker was booked in injury time for preventing a free kick being taken.

The TV doesn't show Straker being pushed but it does show him leaping with both arms in the air. That's asking for trouble.

I was sure i saw Atkinson booked too as davewebbsbrain - BBC doesnt mention booking but sure it was he fouled in a Cheltenham attack and he booked him quite a while after when their was a break in play. It was nearer the family stand area of the pitch , maybe I am wrong?

I always thought we were so truly awful today (similar as at Newport) that we shouldnt accept the point

Yes. A draw is fair. We have an excellent keeper who made a couple of excellent stops and on the day their shots were generally wayward.

They also benefited from having 11 men on the pitch for the last 20 minutes when they should have been down to 10.

Oh - (and not for you YB), but Atkinson was deservedly booked for a mistimed tackle by the halfway line. The ball didn't go out of play for about 2 minutes afterwards when the ref did well.

Generally an off day all round, came away thinking we were lucky.... My only real gripe, is that the penalty was down to our own fault....

straker cleared the ball straight down the throat of the defender... Rather than trying to hit the vast spaces in the corners behind the last defender.....and run the clock down

they then go down the left ... Atkinson? outpaced , (maybe should have brought him down?) ball comes in and the rest is history

still think its a point gained
