I agree it's not imperative to make early signings - but I think you'd agree it's desirable.
Yes, it's still possible to get free transfers at any time, I know the rules, but if a player is on a free in the middle of the season, you'd have to ask why?
And you offering one example of a good player with no massive wage demands on a free would be equally desirable.

I can't knock what he has done, but it's the lack of change and the stubborness to keep it the same when it's clearly not working that frustrates the life out of me, there was no change in tempo or anything at half time

Am a bit tired of this argument now.

Can't judge the future on the past. I'm gutted Maher didn't get a chance to have a summer window, but really seen enough over the years now ON the pitch to realise we are not going to be any good under him. The rigid tactics, the weird subs, the constant ****ing around with goalkeepers. Nothing that embargo affects.

Wouldn't mind COSU pulling the trigger as sad as it is. Time for Maher to go with some shred of gratitude left from the fans. Don't leave it till the crowd are baying for his blood and last memory of him with is a really sour one.
