What covers?Well it's snowing in Southend now. Let's hope this one does not fall foul of the weather and covers go on.
What covers?![]()
Temperatures will range from -1 to -4 throughout the night/mornings (I am in the wrong job) so I can't see it going ahead. Ice is the biggest issue in this day and age due to the world we live in and the big wigs seeing it as potentially dangerous to the players.
I can't see why they don't get all the homeless to all urinate on it during the night and let them kip in the east stand over night. We could supply them with tenants super all night to keep the flow of wee coming and get a stew going to keep them going.I've never understood why say 8 patio heater can't be placed strategically around the pitch over night to keep the ground from freezing up. It's only got to be kept above 2 or 3c to stop frost setting in.

I'd not give up your day job Paulie, Currently grass in the surrounding area has give and will take a stud quite easily. The only possible danger point would be the South Stand goal, but even that won't be frozen at the moment, and I'm sure the ground staff will be on the case. Temperatures start to rise from 1°c at 11am tomorrow so very similar to today. Game on I reckon. And if this sage opinion is total bollocks then I would fully expect a thonging from you after the event.Temperatures will range from -1 to -4 throughout the night/mornings (I am in the wrong job) so I can't see it going ahead. Don't shoot the messenger boss man, just think the old cockle shells under our hallowed turf may not do their job tonight due to the brutal Baltic weather we are experiencing on the Essex RivieraI'd not give up your day job Paulie, Currently grass in the surrounding area has give and will take a stud quite easily. This! I can't believe anyone wants the game to go ahead tomorrow. We ought to be watering the pitch not covering it!It wouldn’t be the end of the world if this one got postponed. It would give the consortium a further few days to truss the rats to their £20M promise, Kev and the medical team more time to get a few more of the squad in contention for the match day squad, and most importantly me a chance to get a ticket as I can’t make it tomorrow![]()
Yeah I get that but it's not as though the fixture will never be played, is it?I would imagine Commercial would disagree with you @Gremlin. especially if Hospitality sales have gone well. Every penny counts it seems.
I doubt it would be pay on the day for those who went down the hospitality route just like those who bought tickets.I would imagine Commercial would disagree with you @Gremlin. especially if Hospitality sales have gone well. Every penny counts it seems.
