I think Dailly's injury might force Sturrock into playing Timms in the middle and Martin on the left.

Bellford
Clohessy Phillips Barker Hills
Hall Grant Timlin Martin
Eastwood Benyon

Subs: Mohsni, Ferdinand, Prosser, Harris, Sawyer
Yep, me too. That's what I would suggest will be the team tonight, although there is always the possibility he might put Mohsni wide left.

The optimist in me is telling me thats what he will go with.

Hope its right...

According to Echo he wont go with Martin and Hall as he wants to keep our shape. Hasnt he noticed we have been losing lately especially at home you must be creative. Be brave for once Sturrock

This is what was actually said.

"Sturrock said he wanted the side to be solid and that's why hall and Martin had not played together. But he's no longer worried about that"

Barker an Timlin for me have not played well for a long time without actually being dropped by choice which i find incredible
as other players have been chopped and changed about, are they both so good that they must be included in every selection
by PS and some fans on here......moving Timlin to the left or middle i cant remember his last good game ......Barker the same an Prosser has done well when he has come in for him when injured or banned....
And if its supposed to be for there leadership and enthusiasm on the pitch well i ain't seen much of that either.
But i know..... lets keep playing them they will play well again one day
MY selection
Belford
Clohessy
Prosser
Phillips
Hills
Hall

"There is a boy from The Hall, his football skills are wonderful, he get's the ball, he scores a goal, he's Freddy Eastwood, The un-stoppable. Freddy Eastwood, Freddy Eastwood, Freddy Eastwood..."

There was nothing wrong with our shape last weekend at Bristol. The problem was the football and the tactics.

Smiffy I couldn't be in Bristol last week as I was away. Did you all sing this ?

What about the 'Fat Freddy Eastwood' song that was sung at Rooney ? Could be changed to 'Fit' - (in the physical sense but OBL might have a wider interpretation) of course

Three up front (Mohsni/Eastwood/Harris) lots of hoof ball, no negative defensive play............job sorted, an ugly 2-0 win!

3 up front, is what he has been playing half the time. Call it 4 5 1 or 433.

No width, no possession, if the front 3 dont get hold of the ball (eastwood and Harris both unsuited to that style) then it come straight back, we create no shots on goal and lose 1-0.

Sounds very familiar to me....

Surely we're due a win at home. Tough one to predict but I am going to be bold and say 2-0 Southend, Hall and Eastwood scoring the goals 6,309 in attendance.

Barker won't get dropped because he's captain and close to Sturrock. He certainly won't if Phillips can't play. Since Harris is out of the team who would be captain? Is Prosser really a much better option? Stick with Barker and Phillips I say, they've been our CB pair for most of the season. All this chopping and changing isn't helping. This is what I think should and hope will be the team tonight:

Belford, Clohessy, Phillips (Prosser if he's not fit), Barker, Hills, Hall, Grant, Timlin, Martin, Eastwood, Benyon
Subs: Prosser (Gilbert if he's playing), Ferdinand, Sawyer, Mohsni, Harris.

Got a positive feeling about tonight. Looking forward to it as it's my first game since Northampton away. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that, plus I'm going in the North Bank and I think the atmosphere will be electric in there. I'm predicting a 1-0 win with Eastwood getting the winner on his return to Roots Hall.

Phillips will be fit. The only thing that would have ruled him out would be concussion. He's been training this week so he doesn't have a concussion.

Think this selection is bang on and got all the right options on the bench (except a sub gk of course, but guess that's Bilel !)

I don't know how much more adrenaline I'm going to be able to produce - been buzzing all day with nerves and excitement. From PS comments I think he'll play Martin and Hall together, and that combo combined with Eastwood up top on it's own is enough to get me bouncing arond on my seat in ancitipation - add into the mix the importance of this game and it's fair to say I can't wait for kick-off, and the roar when Freddy's name is announced - genuinely spine-tingling stuff!

Mohsni better on the bench for me, bung him on later if we need a goal or to replace a defender - he must be a terrifying prospect for a tired opposition team to face.

I normally just keep my forecasts for the prediction league but I suggest that the following will be our line up at 7.45pm.

BELFORD
CLOHESSY ,PROSSER , BARKER , HILLS
HALL , FERDINAND , GRANT , TIMLIN
EASTWOOD , MOHSNI

If Phillips is fit then I expect him there in place of Prosser.

What I would pick & what Id like to see for the remaining seven games injury & suspension permitting:-

Belford

Clohessy Phillips Mohsni Hills

Hall Grant Timlin Martin

Benyon Eastwood

Subs: Barker Sawyer Prosser Harris Ferdinand

What I reckon we'll get tonight though is:-

Belford

Clohessy Phillips Barker Hills

Sawyer Grant Timlin Hall

Benyon Eastwood

Subs: Martin Mohsni Ferdinand Prosser Harris

As Ive predicted elsewhere we will win our remaining home games (yes deluded fool I am), 2-1 win, Eastwood & Hall..
