Personally I would just like to see some consistancy with the team. Seems to change the line up every week.

Yes I agree, constantly changes every game and I must say some of them are questionable as well. We desperately need some points on the board. We are 6 points clear of crewe but that could easily be 3 points by the end of the weekend and with 7 games more to play if we don't buck up our ideas we can see ourselves slip out of a play-off spot and considering we have been in the top 3 most of the season that would be a disaster.

barker......sturrock would never drop even if he scored 4 own goals two games on the trot so those who want him out, fraid not

same with timlin sturrock for whatever reason would rather play him out of position than drop him.

although i not sure what sturrock will do with midfield tbh

belford
clohessy barker phillips hills
hall grant sawyer martin

eastwood mohsni

this would be my team what sturrock will do is a different matter

Never get that midfield in a million years.

Two wingers + sawyer sounds like a great attacking midfield but one that would get over run.

Sturrock would never select a midfield that had so little defensive capability and Id agree with him. Two wingers is stretching the boundaries on its own.

I hope: Hall Grant Timlin Martin
but expect:
Hall Grant Timlin and Dailly

....and another frustrating home performance.

Hurrah , a goal at home !

Perhaps the lads in the North Bank should hand out these before the game:

This match could not be more massive. If we remain inconsistent between now and the end of the season and Oxford and Crewe shown better form than us we will lose our position eventually in the play-offs. So a win is a must against Chelts.

Yes, let's not forget that Cheltenham are not only promotion rivals but also on a worse run of form than us (1W3D4L out of last 8 compared with our 2W2D4L)

http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D3/oform.html

In fact, according to the form table, 4 of our last 7 games are against teams in worse form than us (Cheltenham, Macclesfield, Barnet and Bradford) - given that we're 17th out of 24 on current form, maybe that should give us heart.

However, on reflection maybe their form is only so bad because they haven't played us yet!

Have you seen enough of Mohsni up top to start him upfront with Freddy so late in the season? How much of a gamble is this? I personally would like to see it.

That is exactly the team I am hoping for but dont hold out too much hope. We need wins and this team looks more likely to go for it than most combinations we put out. He who dares wins rodney.

Timlin in the middle or on the left can anyone tell me when they last thought he had a good game
but appears to be first name on the team sheet regardless ,so can we afford to keep playing him
every game cos we have seen him play well earlier in the season(but not lately) ...its now that counts, Martin ,Sawyer
Grant, Ferdinand even Hall in an out but never Timlin and its not that i dont like him but he is not undroppable is he?

Just looked at form tables.

Cheltenham are rock bottom of the table.

Havent scored in 4 games.

Havent won in 6 games.

Only won 2 out of last 12 games.

We can not play defensive against a team like that surely ?

It's not a gamble at all....for it to be a gamble there needs to be something to lose....we're dropping like a stone as it is, if it works, hurrah, if it doesn't we're no worse off.

As far as i am concerned, you can have any formation, with any players, but if we continue to play this dire football we will go nowhere. He doesnt have to but i really would like Sturrock to explain what he actually wants from players, because im confused. We have some of the best players in this league, and yet they look lost, in what is expected of them. Does he want midfield to play to feet, does he he just want defenders just to kick it long, is a sideway pass out of the question, or can we mix it up with a bit of everything. All i no is that half decent players, are not playing at there best and havnt for some time now, and imo thats your job Sturrock.

We know what he wants, he wants the ball moved quickly to the front players and for them to act as the play makers.

It was tolerable when we were winning but its not working now and we have different style players so we need a change.

Then we are the perfect team for them to play against then.

Teams looking to break a bad run, love playing us for some reason.

But yes, we should be going for the jugular tomorrow night. They are shot to pieces and there for the taking.

Predict The Team Versus Cheltenham.

Paul Sturrock keeps chopping and changing the team, will he surprise us again? He says it's to keep the team fresh, but I can't say it's been working. So here is my prediction, sadly with Timlin on the Left again, where he has been pretty useless. I hope I'm wrong. Green rep for anyone who gets it right.

Belford.
Clohessy, Barker, Phillips, Hills.
Hall, Ferdinand, Grant, Timlin.
Mohsni, Eastwood.

And here is the team I would actually pick.

Belford.
Clohessy, Prosser, Phillips, Hills.
Hall, Timlin, Grant. Sawyer.
Eastwood, Benyon.

If we are not winning by about 65 minutes, I would change Mohsni for Benyon and Martin for the worst midfielder on the night. Play the Two wingers and aim the crosses for Mohsni, but also play on the ground through the middle to feed Freddy.

Can you also guess the team P.S. will pick, and if you want, the team you would actually pick.

I think Dailly's injury might force Sturrock into playing Timms in the middle and Martin on the left.

Bellford
Clohessy Phillips Barker Hills
Hall Grant Timlin Martin
Eastwood Benyon

Subs: Mohsni, Ferdinand, Prosser, Harris, Sawyer
