FFS. we are on an unbeaten run and people are still advocating bringing AB in to start ? Why why why ?

Delilah ?

Totally agree. Had to miss the York game, but did make the last 3 away. If their was a MO three away award it would be JBW, Thompson a close second. Only a month ago JBW was a left back who looked nervous and indecisive going forward and I had posted on the zone about his poor final ball.

Has been recent posts slating our staffs coaching skills so i'm delighted that JBW with some very good guidance is silencing the boo boys and keeping AB and Prosser on the bench. The added bonus of our new CB was that Coker was released down the left, remember 3assists at Oxford.

Of course I want goals, but its not any of the back fives fault. I do know if we the fans can match JBW's effort for the next six days it will kick start a good run of points from home games. I can sense the big win is in the air

Delilah ?

Fair questions but my name's not Delilah and you aren't a Welsh singing legend! Ok?

1.Why? AB is a fans' favorite (I am a fan too) and the gate might get a boost with him back; bigger gate, more money, atmosphere etc.
2.Why? The backline up have done VERY well, played lots of minutes and defended very well, other than Coker they are often weak in distribution and taking the ball out/linking with midfield. They have all improved and are trying more than just hoofs forward but we have all seen AB link with the middies who in the past (I know it was different players) have shown great confidence in his judgement.
3.Why? We need an occasional goal from a corner or other set piece and this season we haven't had it from any of our centre backs and AB we know can do that 5/6 times a season.
4.Why? On form the next 2 games ought to be ours to win & introducing a player to a winning side, at home, is often better than inserting a player into a lesser team.
However I am torn into leaving things as they are and can fully understand the "don't change" idea; thankfully it is PB's difficult decision but it is one for us fans to chat about and that is what a forum is?

For Barrett, the old home town looks the same
As he steps down from the train
And there to meet him is his mama and papa

Down the road he looks, not so hairy
Chain of gold and the lips like cherries
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home

Yes, we'll all come to meet him
Arms reachin', smiling sweetly
Oh, it's good to touch the green, green grass of home

By the looks of its just me but I really do not rate Thompson, even with the good defensive record I still am not a fan of his at all!!

He often gives the ball away in dangerous denfsive posistions and also lost Yorks number 5 every time on corners and if it wasn't for Bentley I think he would have cost us a few goals.

Everyone else seems to rate him but IMO he's a mistake waiting to happen and has just got very lucky so far and got away with it several times.

Ok as long as there is no sand :winking:

Considering going in with TBV tomorrow, I'm a season ticket holder in South Upper - can you still swap your seat at the ticket office?

With our Tuesday night record probably playing on the players' minds it's vital we get behind the team from the off tomorrow.

Worrall if fit must start. He has been part of the recent good run and a very important part of it. Just because Payne came in and scored shouldn't mean that Worrall doesn't get back in. Worrall is by far our best attacking midfielder and deserves his place in the side

Id normally agree with that, but Payne took his chance well so bit of a dilemma.

I sort of agree with you, but Worrall has been the stand out player over the past few months. To leave him out would be criminal. If Payne has to stay in then someone else needs to move aside. Leonard would be the obvious answer.

I believe so, but it might be worth checking with the ticket office in advance, rather than asking them on the day.

Not sure I agree Payne should play in Leonard's position. As below par as Leonard has been, he has the physicality needed to play in that position alongside Timlin. I'd be worried we'd be overrun in midfield with Payne in the middle with Timlin. This is why I can't understand why Clifford has been binned. He would have been my replacement for Leonard because he's not afraid to get forward yet can impose himself defensively.

I'd want to play both Worrall and Payne but not sure how to fit them in to be honest. Payne on the left, Atkinson and Timlin in the middle? Too many square pegs in round holes with that, perhaps.

Deegan in for Lenny for me. Lenny looks off his game for one reason or another. It definitely doesn't appear to be because he's worrying about losing his place in the team.

I wouldn't change the Thommo / BW pairing in the centre of defence. They look to be improving in each match and that's the one area of the pitch where I haven't been worrying unduly.

I'd like to see a change up front as Cassidy just hasn't been contributing. I'm not sure who I'd replace him with though as I prefer 4-4-2 and I don't think BBBCs the answer in the starting line-up. If we don't have any other options I'd keep Cassidy in the team and be ready to bring BBBC on for the last 20-30 minutes.

After last Saturday, I'm hoping Timlin is up for the match again; he was immense on Saturday.

I hope the Tuesday jinx will end tomorrow night, I would be happy with a scrappy 1-0 win! One thing for sure .... We haven't picked up a double over Cheltenham yet, we seem to beat them then they beat us back!

Don't get to many Saturday games but have seen numerous Tuesday nighters! The last Saturday game was Wycombe away. Perhaps I should stay away.

All we need is to nick an early goal and I think the confidence will come flooding back to the side and a comfortable win will be achieved.

dont change the formation or starting lineup, if the diamond can work vs top it can work vs a standard league two team such as Cheltenham.
