Furlong was smashing up the Championship just a couple of seasons ago when he was older than Goater is now. Furlong and Gallen were excellent in the Championship and last season he got double figures for a team that got relegated. There are plenty of exceptions who get more than that but that's still a decent number.

Age doesn't determine how long you can play football - natural fitness and a sharp mind do. 24 league starts last season shows that he can still have some input.

Well look at it this way, all the players we have brought imo are better than what has gone/going -

Mildenhall > Collis
Sankofa > Hunt
Walker > Charlie M
Furlong > Harrold

If we keep signing players of similar calibre so we have a decent size squad, we will have one of the best squads in the league imo

It wouldnt surprise me if he got a reasonably small amount p/w and then a pay as you play on top. I can't imagine he'd be pleased to train all week and not get paid because the gaffer didn't pick him.

I really pleased with that signing. Vastly experienced, played at the top level, still banged in 12 goals for a a struggling side last year. He's strong and he'll be a great role model for our other strikers to learn from. I look forward to seeing him play for us.

12 goals for a team who got relegated last season is quite impressive. He'll be a good influence for the other strikers and I'd definitely rather have him than Marcus Stewart.

Well Tilson obviously knows he's done a bummer with Revell for starters. Sherringham has a better pedigree than Furlong and look how he turned out. Barny will be injured most weeks so back up of a 40 year old, a donkey and Walker don't inspire me. How bout we give our young blokes like Hooper a proper run in the team rather than stop gaps like this!
