Breaking News Southend United sign Paul Furlong

tbh, I think he saw that we were definately lacking experience in the squad last season with a lot of youngsters and no experienced head to guide them. Possible captain?

How bizarre .. as predicted by a blind Indian colleague of mine who bumped (quite literally ??) into Tilly in a restaurant the other week and was told we'd be signing Furlong .. he only told me about it yesterday mind

Interesting. Could be a good squad player, hopefully we can bring in Kanu on loan for another season, then I'd be delighted.

As ESB says, we need a winger or two as Gower seems to be on his way out.

For one season to give a bit of experience and as an impact player, can't argue with that signing. Hopefully he'll bring Walker / Revell / Barney on leaps and bounds :)

It does seem a bit strange in the sense that you couldnt really play Barney/Furlong together becuase of the lack of pace and not sure Walker/Furlong would work due to the lack of goals and i feel Revell could only work with Walker really so I dont know who will play upfront next season

Good move i think. As long as he stays fit he'll be ok. He won't play every game but neither did The Goat. He'll also be a good influence on the kids.
