Southend United attempt to bring in defenders Cian Bolger and Mads Ibenfeldt

Would be nice to see both the Center backs signing on monday .The two C B we have at the club must have something to push them along .It is no good having to players being picked week in week out without the fear factor that there is someone to callange them for there places .

Right before I get picked up on my spelling again TO IS MENT TO SAY TWO and its CHALLENGED . Sorry must read what ive written before posting .

Layne have potential to break into first team/impact sub as League 2 is a good starting point of his league career, like Freddy Eastwood in Oct 2004!

Three in would be a real good boost to the squad.....I see people still banging on about strikers strikers strikers, I still believe creativity is the issue. If we give corr, barney, weston the right service they will score....not always about beating two or three defenders and banging it in.....build up play is vital...good crosses etc

Hang on though just seen C. Phillips thread that Isaac Layne past medical, and blues seeking to sign 3 players tomorrow and Richardson ( midfielder) released by Newcastle just joined on trial. Fagan still hanging on in there, other trial lists released.

Signing 3 players on Monday? Nurse - can I have some of his medication please ..............................

seems we have already signed a few strikers now, Weston,Barnard and the lad from Charlton, add Corr and Williams makes 5 strikers Isaac Layne if signed brings it to 6.Now what we really need is a playmaker to bring it all together, because you have someone providing the passes and not just high balls into the centre then the strikers will put the finishing touches to it all.If they not good enough to do that then why sign them.So is their a genuine midfield general come playmaker in our squad if not then thats where PB should be looking.

from what we've seen of Brown, plus what my QPR mate saw as an outsider, we'll be alright at the back. PB gets us well organised but it will be scoring goals that's the difference, maybe between autos and play-offs if last year is anything to go by. I'm quietly confident

Very happy with that signing, it says something that if anything I wish it was longer than 1 year, hopefully there'll be an optional extension clause or something along those lines as from what I've seen of him he is a great player to have at this level.

still find it odd that the local journo gets to announce signings on a sunday night on twitter, stealing the thunder of the club.

I would guess he probably has a deal with the club where he can do this kind of thing, in exchange for not doing things a few days earlier, when he may have already know the details.

Also says in the Echo today that Ben Richards-Everton won't be offered a contract. Makes me think we're pretty confident on signing Bolger.

Also says Patrick Cregg, Gary Deegan, Ross Jenkins and Jordan Chiezodie won't be offered deals.
