The best all round performance of the season IMO. If that did not show the new owners what we are all about nothing will. To score 5 against a team who had not lost an away game all season shows you how good we actually are and without Cav.

Fantastic debut from Kanu and something we have missed for a long time. Husin was magical but they all played well. We blew them off the park.

The Hall was rocking with 6300 in there.

Some performance that - understatement of the year.

Couldnt understand at the time how we'd been able to get Kanu from Charlton as he was in and around their first time - and scoring (has 3 for them this season). Utterly bizarre - but totally our gain.

Before he scored I said to my mate who wasnt watching the game that most impressive thing was his first touch. Absolute class and can tell he's played and been coached at a high level.

That said, you're never going to see an easier hattrick!

But... you got to be there to score them. Absolutely delighted for him.

And in amongst all that, probably goal of the season from Husin! Absolute worldy.

Lost for words, half expected a defeat aft the Yeovil result and losing Miley. Husin's travelling must have left him drained and the lack of bodies didn't bode well.

We've done this to sides all season.
Sometimes it worked: Oldham for starters - literally; Woking, Eastleigh; Daggers, which makes the Fylde result all the more curious.
That's the NL, I guess. We press and against fifth-rate defences both in fact and literally, they can't deal with it.
I saw Stearman on the slide at Fulham - and that was six years ago!

To start with I was thinking Kanu had a bit of Wayne Grey about him but then he went prime Freddy....get him for the season and we are up.

Even though he was raw really liked the look of Kal...Billericay boy. Best performance I've seen from any Southend side in at least 5 years....everyone 10 except Kanu...11
