Post-Match Thread and Ratings Southend United 3-2 Bristol City

I'm writing for the programme this year and I got the impression as changing the supplier might've been a cost-cutting exercise, rather than paying for an extra member of the media team at the club. Give it time and I'm sure the programme will be back to the level it has been the last few years...

O Publishing publish the programme. They also do Col U's and a load of others. If it's outsourced, it cuts out a load of excess slack - financially and oeprationally. I doubt they're responsible for vendors, being as they are just a publishing co.

Had heard that the company producing it are actually responsible for the vendors as well which is why there were none to be seen outside the ground on Saturday, at least on our (West) side.
The club were advertising for people to sell programmes during the summer so they're probably still a bit short staffed. However why we need 3 people walking round the pitch selling them instead of 1 or 2 and then 1 or 2 outside the West, I don't know

No highlights on Blues Player yet?.............I'm really looking forward to seeing them.

Interesting views from pitch level (on the right side of the goal from what I still call 'The South Bank') seen on Sky Sports 4 last night, Yogi. There might be repeats on SS1 today --- that was a fantastic cross for Corr's header and Pato's header at the other end looked quality from this pitch-side perspective too.

There were vendors on Victoria Avenue and on the street outside the North stand where people cut across the car park to head towards the East (cant remember the street name - too many years living in London and I've forgotten!).

Prosser 7.5: I've been thoroughly impressed with him so far, especially with the reviews with which he arrived with. I still think you can see there's an error or two in his locker, but he looks right at home already. Perhaps being back down South with his family around him is going to help him show the potential that Port Vale couldn't see?

That has got a massive thing to do with it. I drink with his Uncle down my local, who is always in contact with him.

He hated it at Port Vale, apparently he was one of two "Southeners" and just couldn't get on up there. The big draw for him coming to us was we are down South. Incidently, he was only on £250 a week up at Vale.

My first ever post, so firstly hello to all.

Have followed Southend from afar (currently in Newbury!) but as my dad was a die hard shrimper thought I would start to take an interest. Was absolutely delighted with the result on Tuesday night. Sturrock looks to be a shrewd manager and seems to have brought in a few very good players. Love Spencers hair, it is sick! Grant is awesome and Paterson looks like he is ready to show his real potential.

Will be trying to get to my first every away game on Saturday at Aldershot - 3 -1 win!

Welcome, Matt. Proof (if it were needed) that following Southend United is - in almost the words of the great Sly Stone - also "a family affair."

What programme was that on?
