Post-Match Thread and Ratings Southend United 3-0 Wealdstone

Very good display- the formation with the right performance showed how creative it can be.

Plus forwards now finding the net!!! Bonne now 4 in 8 starts and 2 subs (20 goal form), Kendall looking good, Walker looking sharper, Hopper doing a good job..

Hopefully all coming right at the right time…

Just seen Maher interviewed on DAZN. Could barely keep the grin off his face. Proper shrimper.

Watching today and seeing how well the team were coached right across the park. I honestly think we are lucky to have him and the rest of that management team.
Completely agree- why you would want to tear it all up and start again is completely beyond me, madness…

Great all round performance and 3-0 did not flatter us. I remember they blasted over in the first half, but I can't remember anything noteworthy they did in the 2nd, Hayes did not have a save to make such was our dominance. In the second half we must have had 6/7 excellent chances including the much improved Goodliffe's header off the bar before Kendall fired home the second effectively killing off the game. Goodliffe, much maligned just a short few weeks back is now performing at both ends of the pitch and his early goal settled any nerves. Coker (another much maligned) had an excellent game as did Kendall - what a difference his chasing and pressurising defenders does he make! All 3 would be my contenders for m.o.t.m. To be fair everyone contributed, even the subs.

I have to be honest, after Solihull I didn't think we had a cat in hells chance of securing a play off place (and we might still not) but to go into the last game with our noses in front is some achievement, whatever happens from here onwards.....

A happy evening here in North Western France and the glass of (good) red wine tastes even better than normal!

Excellent performance from the boys. Wealdstone didn't lay a glove on us all game because of how well they were contained and dominated. An extremely professional performance.

I'll never understand why teams at the bottom of the table try playing out from the back. They didn't like being put under pressure and you could see that is a team low on confidence.

A game I thought we were comfortable throughout.

Can't get carried away with this now, but I certainly do not think we should be fearing teams for the remaining game(s) of the season.

On a side note, it was great seeing the North Bank bouncing today. I must admit I've never been bothered about that being open to us but it certainly played it's part today. Nothing better than a rocking Roots Hall.

First time in the D2 lounge and I have to say what a thoroughly good time we all had. Hayes not much to do, which tells you how most of the match was. We obviously missed some glorious chances to thrash this lot but overall what a really solid team performance. I love appiah forsons work rate I really do. Sometimes supporting this lot really does make you happy, today was one of them days.... Eieieio

That might be our best performance under Maher, considering the context. And a great example of what Ralph brings you, I really really hope he isn’t injured and was just tired
A few threads back some were wondering what Nathan Ralph added to the team, well, today showed just what a good defender he is. He had Reid in his pocket the whole game, and was my MoM.
