That's the problem with supporting Southend da Gama. The manager is always overruled by El Presidente, known locally as El Mulleto.

He wasn't nightly lucky because as we have all learnt other than one occasion by one referee in the Prem last season these decisions simply are not given- in these circumstances if AB did not manhandle their biggest threat from corners and he scored that would be the bigger crime.

In "The Sun" Goals pull-out today, they gave David Mooney "Star Man" and included him in the Team of the Week. Now, I like Mooney, I think he'll score a fair few goals this season and he played alright Saturday but, seriously, how could ANYONE have watched that game and thought Mooney was the MOTM (he wouldn't have even come first in a competition for "Best Southend Striker on the pitch")!!! Am guessing the National papers must put names in a hat to draw their "Star Man" (mind you, to balance it out, Barrett was also in the Team of the Week which is fair enough)

Says it all. Take it with a pinch of salt.

He wasn't man of the match but he was one of the best players on the pitch. Caused massive problems all game. Shame he had an off day in front of goal.
