Certainly in the mix now. Should bring another 600/700 back on Saturday.
Seeing the team now trying and playing football is great and winning as well is a bonus

Indeed.

I was taking the mick out of Cricko....

Sorry, your humour was wasted on me. Tonight was great, good football, good movement. Ferdinand is a gem, he does the simple stuff and lets Easton free to do his thing. Ferdinand is a find and a half.

Great win tonight won't do ratings, but fair play to PS for playing Kane -what a gem. All this talk about Moshni and Grant, but I think Hall may be the one we struggle to hold onto in the future. My MOM also. Grant had a good game too playing keep ball and getting their guy sent off.

One word to describe us tonight - SUPERB!.... Thought we showed just about every single characteristic you need to be successful tonight - Desire, character, passion, will to win, belief and no small amount of ability.

We could have lost that 0-1 and I'd have still have walked out of there a happy man tonight as we displayed all the qualities of a team who could, and I emphasise the word could, be going places. The belief and confidence running through the side right now after our recent run is so evident, and PS has to take enormous credit for finding a system and a bunch of tactics which is working in front of our own supporters.

Not for one second did we ever look like a team who did not believe they would win the game, and you just felt the longer we carried on, we were bound to score - and Oxford are on a very good run themselves - indeed this is the second time we have halted their run of form in just over a month!!

We're not the finished article yet, and there is still a lot of hard work to do, but tonight, even more so than the Macc game, we finally look like a settled side which has been together for a number of seasons, and not an entire squad built just 6 months ago.

Tonight, I thought once again Hall excelled - He is finding consistency to go along with his obvious talent. I also thought that Sturrock and Corr worked extremely hard and the movement of the front 3 was causing constant problems for Oxford. Ferdinand again displayed maturity beyond his years and never seemed to panic even when we were under the inevitable cosh towards the end. Mosni was again the 'all action hero' although perhaps a little more compsure wouldn't have gone amiss tonight - I think he may have eaten one too many Skittle before kick off!!

Overall, very pleased with tonight..... And as for getting carried away.... why the hell not, we're supporters, we're the ones allowed to get carried away, not the players :)

Oh, and the ref.... Shocking red card decision - not that I'm complaining - but really? Not a good decision!

Hats off to Mr Sturrock. Not a fan of his earlier in the season but dont mind admitting he is working miracles at the moment and infused some great football and energy into this team. Tactically, you can see his experience showing and why he has got 5 promotions on his cv.

Thought pretty much a great team performance, the way the lads are scrapping and fighting augurs well, to see the likes of Corr and Hall making challenges in our own box, fantastic stuff and hopefully will bring a few more fans back to the games coming up.

Thought Evans couldve done better with their goal but was a nice move, but they barely threatened after that, and spent most of the game kicking our players, culminating in an awful challenge on Grant which got a deserved red.

Back 4 once again superb, Mohsni again the colossus, the ball just seems to find his head everytime. Barker, how he is playing in this league I dont know, credit to Luggy for getting him here. Gilbert getting better every game and put some good crosses in and Clohessy Mr Consistent again.

Where we are really coming up trumps is the 3 lads in the centre of midfield- Grant and Easton are playing great, but got to say tonight Kane Ferdinand put in one of the most mature and frankly outstanding performances from an 18yr old Ive seen in any division. His awareness of whats around him, his authority on the ball, and his tackling are simply top class. What a find and all credit to Ricky Duncan, and also the much maligned Ron Martin for putting the investment into the youth team. I mean we were going crazy Lee Sawyer re-signed and now hes barely a footnote at the end of games.

Ryan Hall again brilliant, left and right, his passing, workrate and goal threat excellent. Will be another one that clubs from higher leagues will be looking out.

Front 2 also worked very hard. Blair great pass for Halls goal and Corr unlucky with a couple of efforts but the guy just works his nuts off, a real favourite with the fans and deservedly so.

All in all very positive, we look pretty unbeatable at the moment. A lot will depend on injuries though, as the back up on the bench doesnt really look great. Hopefully a loan signing or two can give us a bit more of an attacking threat if need be. One thing that did annoy me was not going for the third in the last 10 mins, couldve saved the nervousness as Oxford put plenty of good balls in late on.

Great noise too, sat in block V and the blue voice were excellent, although had some right moaning tossers behind me (about row E or so block V) one tit said 'Get him off' when Corr miscontrolled a pass!

A battling win. Something that was missing a couple of months ago. They really dug in and ground that one out. They are keeping the ball on the deck more now and its paying off. Hall is really shining now. Mohsni unbeatable and Ferdinand is the next one scouts will be casting an eye on.

I was listening on the radio tonight, sounded like a good game and a brilliant performance. Massive praise for PS who has said all along he'll find solutions for our problems, and he isn't failing to live up to those promises.

Also, TBV sounded great on the radio, loud and full of support. Keep it up guys, get the rest of the crowd behind you and Roots Hall could become a pleasant place to be for the rest of the season.

Up the Blues!

I would agree that Hall was a contender for man of the match. Gilbert was a revelation, especially in the first half. Was that a knock he took because Herd scares the life out of me. Blair yet again put in a terrific performance but given the positions he got into a couple of times his finishing was woeful. Not good but his allround contribution to the team more than makes up for that.

Bilel. What can you say ? There are times when the ball just needs to go long and hard, not pretty but effective. How in the hell can I complain when you see the rest of the package ? He is every bit as domineering as Cort and Sodje and, apart from the fact that he is already a legend, it's frightening that he only can, and will, get even better.

Still far too early for the p/o words though Bilel mentioned them on BBC Essex. 12 points from the next 18 and I'll start to dream.

Brilliant performance by the lads. Still feel we need a decent out and out striker. Barry Corr was the only negative for me tonight. Very wasteful. The other ten played brilliantly.

Not sure we should of had our backs to the wall like we did at the end though. I we were a bit more deadly up top it would have been 4-1

The players look like they're finally starting to gel.

Easton is improving game by game. Ferdinand has been like a new signing, he certainly dosen't look like a yoofie just filling a gap.

The couple of goals have done wonders for Ryan Hall's confidence.

Who on earth found Bilel Mohsni ?? That lad is something else.

Agree with all of that. Gilbert was good too, but overall thought Sturrock shaded it for MOM and deserved a standing ovation from many of us when he was subbed.

Starting to look forward to games again.

Good match against what I thought was a good side - what pleased me most was the self belief and sheer hard work from all 11 that turned the tide around - also think the crowd was positive and vocal - well done TBV

Ratings:

Evans - 7 - solid and more commanding in teh air than Morris - no chance with the goal IMHO
Clohessy - 6 - solid and reliable, played well but distribution was not as good as usual
Gilbert - 8 - best game by a mile so far - solid at the back and dangerous going forward - looked a different player
Moshni - 8 - dominant in the air and a cult hero - he is also a sending off waiting to happen but I just love him to bits
Barker - 8 - he is my Player of the Year so far, dependable, strong in the air and on the ground - far too good for L2
Ferdinand - 9 - MoM for me, sheer class, reads the game so well and makes it look easy - great decision to convert from a CB - best youth for how long?????
Grant - 8 - just kept running and taking teh game to Oxford - has really matured this season
Easton - 7 - neat and tidy and hige amount of effort, just sits a bit too deep for me especially with Ferdinand in the Team
Hall - 8 - what price confidence?? Seems 5 yards faster than at the beginning of the season and is doing everything that Scannell didn't ie improve and look fitter & stronger
Sturrock - 7 - neat and good hold up play, but no goal threat - started out wide which didn't work for me
Corr - 7 - poor sod only gets high balls with his back to goal - has someone stuck a 'kick me' sign on his back as a joke. Missed a sitter in first minute but tries hard as our main 'out ball' - thought he almost gave up three quarters of the way through, but seemed to come through bad patch

Subs

Herd - 5 - scared me lots by forgetting they had 10 men and he was there to defend
Crawford and Sawyer not on long enough for a score

ref : 6 got most major decisions right, but what a joke booking Gilbert and insisiting on keeping moving free kicks, let Oxford time waste in first half far too much and looked like a sending off but I am West Stand block S so not the greatest view

Off to bed happy now!!

Superb performance tonight from what is looking a very good side. I remember sitting head in hands at Stevenage a month or two back when we were behind and we really looked clueless, but what a transformation. Some key players back like Mohsni, Easton and Barker, and finding Ferdinand have really moved us on a level.

Oxford are a good side, and we made them look pretty dreadful at times tonight. We didnt start well but we gradually got into the game, and fully deserved the win in the end. Some smartarse mate of mine (Torquay fan) texted me after Constable scored with the words Ello Ello Ello. In two first half minutes that shut him up, and Hereford went on to win at Plainmoor - happy days :)

Evans - 6 - slow off his line tonight and looked shaky to me. looking forward to the return of Morris
Clohessy - 7 - Did well tonight bombing forward and rarely beaten at the back. Good solid full back
Gilbert - 8 - Another sterling performance, and shame to see him go off at the end. Didnt he hit the bar before the goal?
Mohsni - 8 - A few shakey moments but generally won most in the air at the back when needed, and some timely tackles.... oh and the winner. Legend
Barker - 9 - Majestic performance and bossed the back line. Great bit of business
Easton - 8 - Worked his socks off tonight against a good side and drove us forward in the middle
Grant - 8 - Real leader on the pitch tonight, especially in the second half - proper pro
Ferdinand - 9 - Class act for his age. Not just getting in the team - but nailing down his place. Lee who?
Hall - 9 - Wonderful goal and a wonderful game. Just getting more and more confident. Could well be Hall who is worth big money at end of season
Sturrock - 6 - Held ball up well but not as effective as other games. Finishing is truly lethargic at times. Respect to him - he is winning booboys over
Corr - 7 - worked hard without really troubling them tonight, but it was effective

Herd - 5 - worries me immensely. I think he might get released at the end of the season. Defensively too small at this level
Crawford - 5 - didnt really have much time to do anything
Sawyer - 5 - use up time sub

Ref - 7 - Did ok although think the red card was slightly harsh - right in front of me and seen much worse

Sorry to rain on the party but I thought we could have been 3 down before our goals.

Cracking result tonight ! Got outplayed for the first 40 mins..Hall pulls a goal out fom nowhere and off we go !!

Evans........6.5. Ok Not much to do
Clohessy....6.5 Not at his best at the mo, but a solid player
Gilbert.......7 Much better tonight
Mohsni......7 So good in the air and gives everything. Just loves attacking the ball
Barker.......7 Dependable. Picks the right options
Easton.......7 Best game I have seen him play. Kept probing away.
Ferdinand..8 My MOTM. He spent the whole game tidying everything up in the middle of the park. The future is bright. The future is Kane
Grant........6.5 Quietly effective
Hall...........8 No doubts about it, his goal changed the game.
Sturrock....7 Had a good game tonight. Worked hard. Held the ball up. Spread the play.
Corr..........7 Overall game 6, Workrate 8. Seems to have forged a good understanding with Blair now
Subs : Herd 6. A bit nervy. Crawford 6 Not given long, Sawyer 6 likewise
