Post-Match Thread and Ratings Southend United 2-0 Eastleigh

There seems to be teams that struggle a bit with Sat-Tues games, i think Eastleigh might be one of them.
I thought similar. We even looked up during the match to see if they’d been away at Gateshead or Hartlepool at the weekend. It was surprising just how much we wore them down. They played like an old team, especially in midfield.

@ShrimperStats have you stats for age profiles? Are they one of the older teams?

We are STILL not bursting from central midfield and shooting from the edge of the box much at all.
Maybe not necessarily bursting from midfield but Morton had at least three shots from just outside the area.

According to transfermarkt, the average squad age is 26 in the NL. With Eastleigh at 26.2 and us at 24.8.

We shouldn't be losing to small, mid table teams like them!

🤣 😂🤣🤣:LoyalSupporter::Happy:
I've left a little post suggesting that the poster may have got it wrong. Pointless getting too aggrieved at total tosh like that, just let the result, and the manner of it's achievement, do our talking for us.

Let's see if Sutton (who have lost their last 3 games) come & park the bus. (Should we be higher up the table we may find a number of teams come to Roots Hall with just that in mind).

That will give us another view of how this team is progressing.
Sutton won't come and park the bus, they play a very gung-ho style of football which is largely the reason they've been thrashed in two successive games - they're too open and get caught on the break a lot. So it should be an entertaining game.

I sincerely hope so. Trust our back 3 enough to deal with that, and would love to see and end to end game, would really enjoy seeing Moncur/Noor playing on the break
