Post-Match Thread and Ratings Southend United 0-0 Braintree Town

I actually thought walker had a good game before going off . Maher hates people going against him. Heard rumours Justin wants rid but dunno how true that is . I’m grateful for what he has done but think it’s time to get rid as well as some of the players that have come through this bad patch with us

Wide men can’t cross - tick
Centre forwards can’t score - tick

Let’s get it wide all game and stick loads of **** crosses into centre forwards that don’t know where the goal is.

Genius.
...or pass it through the centre to players who can't control and are easily dispossessed?
There's not a lot of choice, eh?

Surely not...from what I've listened to, I see him as a big fan of Kev.

I also booed. They certainly don’t deserve much else.
Great support, with another no show from the players.
I was Discussing that fans were clapping that crap, shows that some fans are happy with us just keeping the ball and rarely threatening, we all should be grateful to kev and rightly so for what happened, but he has taken us as far as he can. We constantly play in front of teams and it's all too easy for the oppositions, we do well against teams who want to play as the spaces open up, but against teams like today and the majority of this league we will always struggle unless the style of football changes. Apparently they have been practicing attacking play all week, yet there was no change really and hardly anything of note created. All changes again are just like for like subs, I've slated walker recently as he has been poor but he actually had a decent game today yet he comes off? KAF has just been given player of the month yet is dropped? If he has an eye on ebsfleet then that's wrong as you should concentrate on today first rather then the next game.

If our midfielders slipped a pass in behind a defender for one of our forwards I think I would have an explosive premature moistgasm and need a medical professionals assistance immediately.

Whoever signed off on that Hopper contract needs sacking
Said it from the get go......if we were hell bent in bringing him in, then it should have been a loan until the end of the season.
A few said "he wouldn't have come if it was just short term loan deal".
That's the problem....if we're a club that's supposed to be looking to move forward and progressing, we should be the ones dictating, not prospective players and their agents.
Hopper's 18 month contract has handicapped us before our summer recruitment has even started.

Whilst on the subject of incomings, someone please tell me why we didn't being in a loanee with pace and crossing ability in January? Again, there didn't need to be any long term commitment. Just another attacking option to stretch a tiring defence off the bench. Absolutely baffling, not to mention costly in terms of our promotion hopes.

We've blown a gifted opportunity to make the playoffs. Whether we would have shown up then is another matter .If I was in the consortium I would not be happy with the financial implications, and what we have served up to our two biggest gates . That last minute Sutton goal seems to have knocked any confidence we had. In both the last two must win games you have to question selection, tactics and lastly motivation ,which I believe show the short comings of the current management . Sadly the extremely poor goal return and win percentage of 35% explains why we are falling short this season

1..2..3......That's one goal, two points in three games...I've been going to Roots Hall since 1966 and although I'm now old and exiled in Sussex, I still bring the grandsons up when I can for half a dozen or so home games a year. Maybe we've been unlucky, but this is the lowest goal to game ratio I've ever seen and if we don't win against Wealdstone (the last game this season I'm bringing them to) it will be the first season in 58 years that I've not seen us win a game.... Yes, of course I'm glad we still have a club when there were so many times it looked like we may not, but the quality has been, oh so, disappointing, especially when you consider the crowd numbers we've brought to the Hall. I've been lucky enough to see us win 5-1 against Chester twice, 7-0 against Workington, 6-1 against Exeter, 5-0 against Bradford PA and Port Vale, many 4 goal home victories, not forgetting the 9-0, 7-0 and 10-1 FA Cup wins. I can only hope we get three points and some goals next Saturday or an unwanted milestone will be sunk in my Blues supporting life. So I'm asking the team to put the same passion and drive into that game that we supporters bring to Roots Hall. Is that too much to ask....? We shall see.
