Long thread, not particularly inclined to read it all so....

Were we booed off on Saturday? I was in the Family Stand and don't remember hearing any.

Reason I ask is that in today's Racing Post, they tip up Gills to beat us again tonight and mention how we were booed off on Saturday. News to me.

Boo's from the East mate certainly.

I would swap squads tomorrow given the chance. We have no midfield whatsoever and they had better than we started with on the bench. Dack and Wright were absolute class and ran the show.

Does that mean you think that they are up to it or are just that they are better than us?

JET (just arrived) is clearly superb but I wouldn't swap Wright for any of our midfield. That was their first win for ages and they should have been three down before they scored the goal when Thompson was unfairly blocked off.

I repeat my contention that, unless we make some terrific signings and change our style of play from last season, Gillingham was a relegation six pointer - as Saturday will be.

Loads of boos from the middle of the West, surprised you didn't hear them where you were.

Regardless of our other discussion, I agree here. I thought Dack and Wright were excellent. Personally, I really rate Wright, keeps things simple and was/is always available. Happy to pass quickly and look again for the ball back. I think that Lenny alongside someone like either him or Dack would excel further.

I just personally feel their squad is better and more balanced. They also looked fitter. I know people disagree but I don't regard Leonard as a midfielder, I simply don't think he's good enough for that role, maybe defending he is really good and has an abundance of pace, but lacking going forward. Now as a right back I think he would be great.

That however means we have Leonard, White, Demetriou and O'Neill, all in my opinion, right backs.

That leaves Atkinson (Runs a Lot), Timlin (Injured), Wordsworth (Always Injured) as central midfielders and simply, in my opinion, not good enough.

I sincerely hope King is good as it may be the only choice we have.

We really need some creativity in Midfield and if we don't then the forwards, who have the potential to be good, simply won't have the service. We just don't have a Freddie who can create his own chances.

After Saturday I'd certainly swap him for Atkinson, Timlin or Wordsworth right now
