Some Club Staff Salaries Late/Embargo Chat - now resolved (for now)

Interest rates will keep going up for next 2 years so the individual buying of starter style homes may wane.
The, imo, biggest under serviced sector of the housing sector is for what was called council housing, including properties that used to be solely provided for essential workers and the independent elderly down sizing from the council house they have had for 40 plus years and not bought.
The " right to buy" had many good points but not having that stock of housing has caused a large and oft ignored sector.
And now boris wants to sell off Housing Association houses on the cheap!

We are a long way off topic but iirc didn't club used to have properties players and staff could rent?
And I don't mean the Roslin.

As for Boris's, or Maggie's, right to buy, it is a good policy in the main for getting lower working folks aspirational benefits etc. BUT there must be more social housing built to replace that sold. Simplistic theory but it is what it is.

Yes they had several houses in I think it was Hudson Road in Eastwood. I seem to recall the Rubin sons sold them off?

I totally agree. Not sure how somebody on benefits would manage to find the deposit or the affordability criteria for a mortgage, mind  :Off Topic:

I was hoping someone would come on here and refute this rumour (non payment of wages) or explain it away as a banking error. That hasn't happened so assume all rumours on this are true which is utterly exasperating and depressing. The cash flow right now could have been forecast months ago (and I'm sure it was) yet we're unable to come to an arrangement with anyone (bank, director, benefactor) to fill the shortfall. Cash flow is an issue for lots of businesses but not many manage it by non payment of staff. Once or twice, hey ho, but time after time after infuriating time we come on here and read about this and yet the next thread you go to is about an imminent signing ? WTF ?

Exactly. I run a business and i'd rather pay them out of my own money than see them go without (ie add extra capital and repay myself at a later date). They are one of the most important assets to any businesss.

Perhaps it's time Chris Phillips got hold of this and made enquiries / released a story ?

The likelihood of anyone coming on here and refuting or providing explanation are nil. And why would a club official discuss internal financial club business with a Supporters fans board? It's reasonable to assume that some Club employees have not yet been paid but we have no idea how they propose to deal with the cash shortfalls. That doesn't make it right that staff haven't been paid, but it is what it is.

There’s been a worrying lack of denials.

Usually there’s a dismissive statement a week or so after saying all staff have been paid (but omitting to confirm when/that they were paid on time).

From this we can read in that the money was probably still owed by the end of the last week. Hopefully a proxy will pop up with the belated non-denial denial soon (maybe the excuse this time will be Tom Lawrence was on holiday?). The later the denial appears the longer it suggests those owed monies had to wait for their salaries to be paid.

On the one hand these aren’t going to be the big earners compared to the players and it will be relatively small sums that are owed which is sort of good news but at the same time that’s bad news if we’re struggling to pay relatively small amounts.

What concerns me is the Roots Hall safety certificate is up for renewal. The cost of getting Roots Hall past an inspector could be significant. That game v Ipswich being hosted at Portman Road scares me. If the Gillingham game is cancelled/switched to Priestfield/behind closed doors alarm bells should be sounding. We saw what happened to Altrincham (and I think Wrexham had to shut a stand too). We had a game postponed last year because of damage to the East Stand as well.

I'm not expecting an official statement on here RHB. But in these situations a reliable ITK (whether endorsed by the club or not) will give a steer when one of these types of rumours (embargo, late payment of wages) isn't true and that has not happened. Not one post with an alternative narrative. We're presumably potless just when season ticket money is coming in.

Or which has now dried up completely until another form of payment is accepted.

I bet the staff who have not been paid are damn angry.
Money being spent on players contracts, more to be spent on R H.
Yet some of the staff have not been paid.

Some always say that players careers are short.
It seems that some people working at RH have even shorter careers!

If I remember correctly there is never an official declaration regarding umbongo.

Wait for the next signing ---- or not.

I’m sure I’ll get shot down in flames and cop some abuse for this, but so be it.

These people keep the football club we love going and are as important, or more important, than any player.

In speedway there is a benevolent riders fund for injured riders unable to earn their fees when not riding.

I’m sure many would put into a pot to help these people stave off the worst money concerns when this sort of thing happens (more often than we care to admit).

Not sure how it would be run at all to be frank, but I’m sure someone or here would. Perhaps could be loaned to them and repaid or just simply given.

This shouldn’t need to happen, but clearly it does.

Would show we are United as a club from fan to groundsman to bar staff, even if the powers at be have no shame, or worse, no cash to pay their bills.

I wouldn't say no denial makes it true, it remains a rumour.

I received a cheque from the club, that cleared, at the end of May. It might have been from ring fenced funds though as it was a blues lottery win.
