So who's looking forward to sunderland?

From memory I think the metro from the Airport to the stadium took about 45 minutes. I went up by train from Kings Cross and then flew back to Stansted. To be honest time wise, after all the hanging around and ID checks (Three) there was not much in it. But just for the novelty of flying to/from an away game it had to be done.

Yeah looking forward to this game very much indeed.

Im booked on the 9:15 flight from stansted i think it is, is anyone else on that 1

Been there before (long story) but the metro is a good bet from Newcastle. THe only thing is that it will be firstly fullof old dears, then full of Black Cats fans as you get nearer the ground...when i say full...i mean full!

It takes a little longer than the 20 minutes i saw elsewhere, or did it just seem it to me?

The chadded mobile/punto of justice/pocket rocket, will be winging it's way up the A1 about 10am Friday. Bring it on!!

Letting the train take the strain. Staski, Matt the Shrimp, Hong Kong Blue, Pablo and I will all be on the 9:30 from King's Cross. However, we are going to be sensible and won't crack open the first tin of beer until 10am.

How much is that setting you back mate, and what time are you coming home after the game? Not being nosey! just curious as thinking of doing the same, cheers.

Just watched the championship,Stokes and Conerlly(?) looked a bit of a handfull.I Remember Sunderland down here looking disorganized and auful, Keane certainly has turned things around.

exactly what i was thinking. they have some great players and look a completely different team that earlier in the season. keane has donw wonders. going to be a tough game for sure. maybe are hardest game yet?

poofs ! and dont forget you can only wear a cap sleeve T-shirt up there , regardless of the weather!

Definatly going, the drive down is about 10 miles less door to door than it is from Southend to Sunderland.

Unfortunatly it is one of the very few games that is in reaching distance fro me

Look Out for the Aberdeen Shrimper flag

Going up Friday by train.Staying in thistle hotel.Doing a Tour Of St James Sat Morning then off to the game.Oh and probably have a couple of Lime cordials as well.Dont you just love awayday weekends.

Trains cost £42.50, but we booked them a few weeks ago. I'd have thought tickets would be appreciably more expensive at this late stage.

On the 1834 train back from Newcastle though should you be making the trip.

Nosey sod :p

.... where you shall be meeting your favourite Dutchie who flys in at 10.30am and will have to entertain himself for five hours!!

A weekend of carnage and 3 points is expected! Anyone else out and about on the Friday night? We are staying 100 yards from Newcastle Central Station...! Any good places to go/recommendations welcome.
