Slaters/Moaners: Tell them to shut it or let them get on with it?

Tell them to shut it or not?

This season, the guy sitting behind us has not had a single word of praise for the team, and for 90 minutes every match does not stop shouting about how poor Francis is, how he wants Tilly out etc.

So today I decided to pipe up and tell him that he's wrong, which has caused an argument between us.

So what do you think, tell them to shut it or dont say anything?

He may be a negative prick but you dont really have much right in telling him what he can or can not say...

I got two boys behind me who moans when Francis has a blinder and still looks for negativity and Freedman when he comes on "Oh Doogie not Doogie, he's s***" "Barnards s*** bring on Laurent" (on comes Laurnet) "On not Laurent he's s***"

Make up your ****ing minds for f*** sake!!!!

Sounds EXACTLY like the guy behind me

give him both barrells and tell him you don't go to RH to him him talking bollocks for 90 minutes and the next time he thinks about watching the team not to bother.
It has to be done.

I had the two most pessimistic fans around me. For 90 mins (plus during half-time) all they could do is say what the players are doing wrong and calling our players "brain dead". The thing that annoyed me was that he never joined in the chanting. Thank goodness I will never see him again!

Although not probably factually correct, A few off them were making a pretty good fist of it!

I share your frustration young Dan/Dave, there are huge numbers of supporters who get on the players' backs the second a pass goes astray, it's quite ridiculous and we've had this discussion so many times - ENCOURAGE not DISCOURAGE!

I don't have a quarrel with anyone saying that the players are performing bad, only when they are should they say it. It grates me when someone like Scannell today was busting his gut yet get's called too slow, fat and a prick by some people around me. Sorry, who does Scannell play for? it's the reason we lose any good player that we aquire.

I know that we really needed to win but we didn't and that's life as a Southend fans, i'm sure that the players are just as down as we are and we need to get behind them for the remaining games no matter the position, every point counts. For all we know, Tranmere and Scunthorpe might lose all their games. Who knows.

But who decides if a player is performing badly. You only need to look at the Scannel thread to find some thought he was rubbish and some thought he played well. Its all about opinions.

Well, if they can't string a pass or make number of mistakes i'd call it a bad game, but i can see where your coming from, some people expect us to be playing like Brazil but we can't, we play more like Northern Ireland and people should realise that.

It is funny though, how whenever I've seen Franno at away games this season he's always seemed to do ok, yet put him back in front of the hypercritical Roots Hall crowd and suddenly things go pear shaped. Maybe some people should be looking to their conduct and their consciences as being the root cause of his problems.
