Ticket News Sittingbourne FC H Isuzu FA Trophy - 1st February 2025 3pm

Unfortunately it's not the north bank we onced loved.

It's incredibly cramped and poor view.

I'd love the club to rebuild it as safe standing and really get it bouncing.

Hope you enjoy the nostalgia though Fred, and a win obviously

Indeed - not so many Dr Martens or Monkey Boots now. Or denim jackets ........ or Harringtons.

I used to love my Harrington ...........

Rebuilt similar to Dagenham away end, safe standing and a barrell roof for accoustics and I think it would be THE stand to be in at the Hall

You’re quite right Tommy but we need our younger supporters in sufficient numbers to take up the mantle and create their own atmosphere and experience. The days of standing all crammed in behind the goal swaying too and fro are long since gone.

Without wishing to go a bit off topic as I know there is another thread on the North Bank but there were some memorable nights and others you’d wish to forget but that whole experience is such a huge part of our Southend United lives. That will never be replicated and todays game will be different as there is a large contingent of away fans under the same roof. No doubt, with you leading the singing Tommy, it will generate an atmosphere in there today we haven’t seen in ages.

Whilst I am looking forward to this match I am also dreading it as I know it will be uncomfortable sitting in the the main stand. You almost have to synchronize you breathing when you're all sat together like that. To think that in the 1980's they had the whole stadium open for crowds of 1,200 - 1,500.

Yep 1,500 people or less at times in a 35k capacity stadium.

Remember the 84/5 season where the highest home crowd all season was 2,900 on Boxing Day v Swindon.
We weren't the only club with such low crowds. It's a wonder how so many clubs survived those dark days.
