Naps... Be afraid, be very afraid. I'm playing my full complement of 4 first teamers...

Not that I'm being over-confident, but has anyone got any silver polish...?

This may mean a recall for Giovanni Arechi...

Hmm... if he's any good, can I buy him off you?!

Don't forget, no more than four regular 1st XI players (i.e. that started both of your last two league games) can feature in your line-up tonight...

Don't worry. Most of them are youth players Ive called up(One of which turned out to be a £200k keeper...), or players that havent played for a while. But I'm keeping my left winger in the side.

Shrimperzone F.C. 0 - 7 Southend United Football Club

Arena: Shrimperzone F.C. Arena
Crowd: 789

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 789 at Shrimperzone F.C. Arena today. Shrimperzone had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Harvey - Johnson, Ayling, Scholz, Wood - Knell, Hart, Corcoran, Beramendi - Arechi, Commander.

Southend started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Frost - MacElheran, Martin, Sheridan - Wai-Son, Bernhardsson, Widererberg, van de Beek, Healy - Askenbom, Litherland.

Shrimperzone saw most attack opportunites on the wings and were directing their passes that way. Southend seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. After 9 minutes Southends Björn Askenbom made his way through the middle, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. The referee showed Southends Björn Askenbom the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The visitors Danny Litherland took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and central backs in the 25:th minute. 0 - 2 for Southend. In the 34:th minute the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 3 as Danny Litherland finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. By now Southend were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. Seemingly due to lack of experience, Ross MacElheran needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 35:th minute Southend goal, making it 0 - 4. Tom Widererberg was noted down as the scorer. What was Rini van de Beek thinking? That's what everyone wondered when he for no apparent reason shot a cross pass over his own penalty area, giving Jim Knell an extra chance, but he didn't get the shot right.. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 41st minute Southend goal, making it 0 - 5. Francis Sheridan was noted down as the scorer. 0 - 5 was the half-time score. Southend, bringing the final ball possession rate to 85 percent, dominated the battle.

The visitors Danny Litherland took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and central backs in the 51st minute. 0 - 6 for Southend. At that, Danny Litherland was noted down for a hat trick. The visitors Rini van de Beek took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and central backs in the 53rd minute. 0 - 7 for Southend. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Shrimperzone´s Tam Corcoran got himself booked. In 68:th minute of game time Shrimperzone´s Tam Corcoran received his second yellow card and was sent off. Southend, bringing the final ball possession rate to 92 percent, dominated the battle.

Shrimperzone´s best player was Philip Beramendi. Jim Knell on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Southend player was without a doubt Woo Wai-Son. However, Ross MacElheran made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 7.

Quote[/b] (Napster @ Feb. 04 2004,10:33)]Hmmm. My reserves are clearly rubbish.
Au contraire, Naps... the first team players I played are all pretty good.

I decided to play most of my 1st XI midfield. Of the three central midfielders, one has an "excellent" rating for playmaking whilst the other two have "solid" (one of which has an "excellent" for set pieces). The winger - who was actually man of the match - has a "solid" for wing-play and a "passable" for playmaking.

You see, I've been slowly assembling a squad which might be ready to step up to Level IV... even my reserve keeper is now a "passable" (I got a "solid" keeper from my youths, which was a very pleasant surprise), and I hope my youth team will become "excellent" during the close season... I've pumped enough bloomin' money into them, that's for sure!

I just got lucky when I joined Hattrick... I got given a Level V team instead of a Level VI team (which most of you guys got).
