I think we'll win! Northampton has seemed to lift everyone. If we come out like the team that did in the second half we'll win. If we come out like we did in the 1st half we will lose.

The team are in good spirits after their Go kart racing last night so that will help with team bonding so I think a win may be on the cards. It will be not be easy but i have faith in us and can see us winning 2-1.

What if we come out in the first half like at Northampton, then for the second half come out like we did in the second half at Northampton??? draw perhaps? :dim:

Yes but about 4-4. The performance first half was pretty average against Northampton and a better side such as Shrewsbury would surely punish us. But second half we were irresistable at times and would have ripped apart any side in the division in that mood.

I wouldnt be suicidal if we lost, probably our toughest away game we have left so a point or three would be a bonus. Saying that we completely destroyed them at home so I would be confident of getting a result.

You would be one of the few; most on here get suicidal when we go 1 down with 87 minutes left to play

Sorry if this has already been asked. But can you pay on the day tomorrow at Shrewsbury???

I only ask because the SUFC site doesn't say yes or no, and the box office simply don't answer the phone?!?! :omg:

I imagine that we can pay on the day, just don't want to travel and find that you need a ticket!!

Thanks.

Didn't we have Moody & Cusack in the back line in those days and wasn't Dave Smith manager at the time?

Oh, heavenly days! :happy::happy::happy:

With Mickey Stead and Steve Yates as the full backs, i was only 10 at the time but already my 2nd promotion .. i thought the game was so easy back then :dizzy:

4-1 to the mighty mighty Shrimpers, the Mosh all four and sent off for jumping into the away section and having a shirtless hug with Trueblue.

My prediction:

Morris

Clohessy
Phillips
Barker
Gilbert

Grant
Timlin
Kalala
Martin

Dickinson
Benyon

Shrews fan here. You will need a ticket to get in, but I am pretty sure you can buy them at the ground.
I don't remember you destroying us at your place - 1-0 with 3 minutes to go and we hit the underside of the bar.
You then caught us on the break to make it 2 with a penalty and we then gave up the ghost and got caught by another sucker punch.
We are a much better side now than we were then, so this game has all the makings of a cracker.

Looking forward to this one, being at uni now I haven't managed to get too many games this season, and I have missed it like mad. Anyway my prediction is 3-2 Southend with 560 blues fans. Dicko, Hall and Phillips getting our goals

New stadium to visit, cannot wait feels like the most important game of the season, lose and the pack are breathing down our neck, win and put some more daylight on the pack. Going for a very tense 1-1 draw, Dicko to score in front of 400 blues supporters in a gate of 6500. Only change to team is Sampson replacing Benyon who drops to the bench. Would feel happier with Bentley on bench instead of Ferdinand who I doubt will be called upon, but PS seems to prefer greater choice of outfield players. UTB

Best actual football I have seen us play at home all season, on the deck. I thought they were the lucky ones....
i remember this game so well as after many seasons of having a season ticket i decided against one this season and this was my first game of the season, after seeing the game i was glad to get down the pub as i thought we through the game away and thought i will not go go back in a hurry.

Prediction: Shrews 1-2 Southend.

Shrewsbury go 1 up, we equalise and then go on to score in the last 15 to win it. Either Sampson or Bilel for the winner.
