I think our lack of depth has come back to bite us, we sound tired and based on how all our players magically came back from injury at once it wouldn't surprise me if a few playing aren't actually fit.

Match report: Shrewsbury Town 1, Southend United 0

SOUTHEND United remain a point outside the play-off positions after suffering a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Shrewsbury Town this afternoon.

NFN, but wouldn't this be better if it was a thread for the people actually at the game?

We've got the official match thread and the chat room for us lot.

If 1500 fans and Phil Brown can't motivate the players then I give up.
Shocking performance, the only credit due goes to the fans. Cracking atmosphere in the stand today, spoilt by the 11 on the pitch.

3 points in 15 is relegation form, we ended the season like we started it

Someone mentioned the easiest run-in. But it's Franchise and Charlton that have done us. They were the only ones with nothing to play for.
The mental battle is sometimes the hardest, and one wonders where the 'character' was today and in those two other games?

It'll be a few hours til we get the post-mortem from them so venting of spleen time for the rest of us in the meantime

Well done to the traveling fans, minus the smoke box moron, and Ron for the subsidies.

Listened to it on the radio only. It seemed like we had the edge either side of half time but were otherwise woeful.

Easy everyone.

Ultimately after todays matches nothing has changed. Even if we had won we would only be 2 points a head of Millwall. We would still have needed Millwall to do us a favour.

We never had the edge in the game. We couldn't string passes together, couldn't pass the ball to feet, didn't win one 50/50 tackle, pumped the ball down the middle constantly, even when McGlashan and Robinson came on. Shocking display all round

Bottle jobs, spineless, gutless. Three times in two weeks Millwall have dropped points and we have gained ... 0.

nobody turn up as clearly we can't perform in front of a decent following... last time was MK?

If you do not have the motivation to play acceptably in front of 1300 away fans with play-offs on the line then you simply do not deserve to wear the shirt.

Can anyone actually imagine what a fiercely motivated Scunthorpe or Fleetwood would do against this shower in the playoffs?!
