Shootings in toulouse and montauban......islamic connection?

Now that it's over I would imagine that there are MANY questions that are going to be asked. One can start with the siege itself. What on earth were two policemen doing, being sent in the middle of the night, to knock on the door of a terrorist suspect? Crack police units being used today, were there not other options (gas?) than getting involved in a shoot out? All sounds a bit amateurish to me........perhaps they really didn't want him alive?
