Of course wiggy was moaning about Maher for years anyway so I'm not sure why she's now bemoaning his departure.

Guys small clubs like ours have to keep the lid on things as much as possible these days or some bigger club comes in and outbids us. Sure the rumours fly on the fans forums but often there is very little truth in them. I am sure your top brass are out there ducking and diving trying to bring in the right players at the right prices without advertising the fact to every other club they are in there. Agents do a lot of harm to us minnows by talking up the players values and putting big ideas in their heads, before you know it they want 10K a week and a butler!

The reason we both tend to sign players fairly late in the close season is because many of our targets are waiting to see if they get a better offer, towards the end of this month most of them will have to commit to one of the deals on offer.

Exactly. Any half decent player knows that he's going to get set up somewhere or other at this time of year so the power is 100% in their hands.

Anyone listen to five live last night - some interesting comments from David Pleat about how 'player power' is making managers' jobs all but impossible as they almost have to put together a new team each season.
Sounds familiar...
He also made some interesting comments about how the high turnover of players at clubs these days is making it harder for fans to identify with players/clubs.

what a F#####G joke you bloody are if say you where conned lets start a collection from you raise the money to but your ticket and give to someone who wants to support the team instead of slagging it off week after week

Wiggy, such venom is really unjustified. No-one "conned" you into buying a season ticket, that was a decision you made at the time of your own free will. There is still plenty of time yet for a new and exciting team to arise out of the deitrius of last season's, whether or not that includes Bailey and Clarke we shall have to wait and see. Please just ease back and stop the frankly libellous nature of your posts until such time as you are able to make a rational and informed judgement.

You must have very high blood pressure because you appear to be full of such anger in the majority of your posts. So, for your own sake, as well as ours, just chill a bit.
