Breaking News Season Tickets - now on sale

Think we are close now to what the final number will be personally. Been on general sale since the start and it is only the season ticket holders from last seasons seats that will be unblocked for general sale now. Think we will get maybe 200 more at most which keeps us around the same number as last season roughly

It's more about people waiting for pay day to be able to purchase.

Most get paid between 27th and 1st of the month, so I'd expect quite a few sold today and tomorrow

Club said there were 1300 new purchases so if we end up with the same number as last season a fair number of existing ticket holders have not remewed. Doesn’t sound right,

Are they new purchases, as in changing to a new previously unoccupied seat though? For example buying one in the NB, and letting the original Season Ticket held in another part of the stand wither on the vine? It depends how they categorise a new purchase.

Some people who purchased last season may have purchased a new ticket now rather than wait for the swap period to exchange seats.

The exchange seat option only really works if its
  • Season Ticket Renewals open
  • Season Ticket Renewals closes
  • Season Ticket swap period opens
  • Season Ticket swap period closes
  • Seats are released to general sale

I remember last season the club stated x amount of "new" season card holders, but in reality it ended up being a lot less than stated. I'm therefore sceptical there are actually 1,300 "new" holders as in didn't have one last season this time around.

We are just over last seasons numbers, so certainly slightly up with hopefully another surge today/tomorrow as people receive salaries. Pushing towards 5,000 would be superb.

Anybody know the record for us for number of season card holders? Can we pass it this season?
Wonder how many we sold in our return to the championship season after winning league 1 ??

If we compare when I last bought my Season Ticket at the Hall it was under the Ronnie Whelan years our last year in the Championship in 1997

I believe we only sold 1,400 Season Ticket Holders and was lucky to see 4500 home supporters then .

I am amazed how the club come on leaps and bounds over the last decade and we been poor on the pitch and have dropped out the Football League .

Indeed I remember back in the late 90s under Alvin Martin we played Orient at home and 5,000 was considered a great crowd! Shows how far we have come and I think a lot of it has to do with a new generation like mine who are born down here (in my case Rochford Hospital) and growing up locally

Yep - and the next generation from those born in the 70s/80s now bringing their kids along, as well as Premiership sides pricing normal families out and local sides picking them up as regulars.

Remember Basildon was built as a New Town for the overspill from London , Even My Home Town Wickford in the 50s only had a voting population of around 3000 now hitting 34,000 all my Neighbours are ex East End Londoners as you say the 2nd and Third Generations have no links or connection's to London and proud to be Essex Folk these days and do not want to be known as ex-cockneys .

Cos Granddad supported west ham in 1950s / 60s does not mean new future Generation's want to support them but associate with their local club, also Premiership Football over priced / dead boring / No atmosphere due to tourist supporters now living in the Capital , the old white working classes have all but disappeared today IMHO
