I have had the same seat in the West Stand ever since seats were put in the there. I sent in my renewal form by post about 2 weeks ago, and have had no response from the club. The money has also not been taken out of my account.

Are you telling me I should be all happy and smiley about that then?
quite different from what I was saying as I think you well know. If the postal system doesn't work then that is not on at all and is cause for complaint. Poatal applications should have an immediate turn round.

I don't actually know the ins and outs but considering I got someone else to get my ticket, is there no chance you can get someone else to do it for you?

In principle, as I'm doing nothing right now, I would be fairly happy to wander down and do them. Surely renewals would be even easier. The only problem I guess is paying by card.

How much will that call have cost you I wonder?.

I'm not expecting a response

Thats just a joke!!!!

You should get a reduction on your season ticket for the inconvenience and your phone bill!!

Not good enough

Unless they employ squiggly diddley* to answer the phones I doubt they'll sort the problem out before deadline.
I never realised the new number was premium as when I need to I phone from work with the aid of one of the dealers desks and his 12 lines out, hogging up the Southend teleboard network no doubt.

( shouldn't there be a message telling you thecost of the phone?)

* For the younger generation~ Squiggly Diddly was an octopus that played drums better than keith moon. It was on a long time ago. it was probably in black and white.

Probably around the 5p a minute mark (therefore just over £6), with the club getting a cut depending on the number of minutes per month on that number, typically between 0.5 pence and 1.5 pence per minute unless they've got themselves a better deal.

Would it really have been so hard to employ a handful of temps in the ticket office just cover the period up to June 1st? Even if they had 2 or 3 members of staff just manning the phones it would have made a difference. Luckily, I had no hassle at all renewing in person on Saturday morning.

We have the smallest squad in the league, it even extends to the ticket office!

Very hardworking existing staff but the only way to get a result is to visit in person. The poor chap from Coventry could have probably made it by car in those two hours.

Be it players, ticket staff, or first team shirts, this club is run on a very low budget.

I bit the bullet on Saturday and went to the ticket office in person, even though it was a 140 mile round trip. Staff were very helpful and the good thing about going to the ground you can check out your seat/view before purchasing it.

WOOHOO - Just renewed my Season ticket! Did it over the phone - the bloke on there was so helpful. Bearing in mind they close at 5pm - I jung on just in case they stayed late and got through at 5.33pm.

Can't praise them highly enough - they had previously rung me at home in response to an e-mail query I had sent and left a message.

FWIW he says they have sold about 5300 - which is a little confusing seeing as Brian Wheeler is on the Official Site quoting over 6000!

As we were closing up, he asked if I had been waiting a long time (which I had!) and he said that the chap before me was really rude to him.

Comrades - there is no need for this - they are doing their jobs as best they can, and staying late to deal with the backlog. Give them a break and be nice to them!

I live miles away from the gound, and work even further away. The only way I can sort out my ticket is therefore by phone.

I have had the same seat in the West Stand ever since seats were put in the there. I sent in my renewal form by post about 2 weeks ago, and have had no response from the club. The money has also not been taken out of my account.

I rang this morning to find out what is going on because I don't want to lose my seat (not least because I sit next to my dad and a very good friend) and managed, by the end of the morning when I had to go to a meeting, to get down to number 5 in the queue, having started at number 9.

I then rang the reception to explain the situation. The lady passed on my details to the ticket office, and I have still not had a response. All I want is confirmation that they have received my form and that they will not be selling my seat to someone else.

Are you telling me I should be all happy and smiley about that then?
I live in London too... you could have got up early and driven to Southend on Saturday to renew like I did!

I did the same last week. Having never been a season ticket holder before I wanted to assess my options but simply couldn't get through by phone so drove from Watford and was fortunate to find the ticket office virtually empty. The lady there was very helpful and persuaded me I'd still get a very decent seat if I applied asap. I did so and today got confirmation that I have been allocated a seat in South Upper Block I - and very near H - which I'm very satisfied with.

I do sympathise with people who live away from Southend, though. I'm lucky because at present I work from home, giving me flexibitity to travel to places, but I realise that most don't have that luxury. The ticket office are great once you get through on the phone but they really need more staff - I phoned today after getting a voicemail from the club and it took me over an hour to get through. I was just about to confirm I wanted my seat when I ran out of credit on my mobile. Luckily they called me back...

I was on the phone for 1hr 20mins after recieving a message from my brother at home that i had to call them back!

We went to the ticket shop on saturday (took us 40mins drive as we normally do for every match game) Got to the other end to be told that the seats we wanted had gone, so we had to settle for 2 together and 1 one seat along! What bugger is sitting in between us three? lol maybe if i ask him he will let us sit together? Unless its a Southend old boy whose been going for donkeys years!

Just to echo, the wait is while but the service is top notch!

Urmmmm! Oh yeah, I went out for a meal, I sat down but no-one came to me for an hour. Once they got round to me it was good, but what do you tell people - b******s to going there again!
