Talking of which, I notice that both the last day for "cheap" renewals and the last day in the seat swap window are Bank Holidays. Oversight or done deliberately so punters can get there?

Why not make the date(s) the last working day of April, May.
Atleast then most people will have been paid just before!

So i wont pay either except at matches of my choosing. Ive missed maybe 5 games this season any way so i'll save money.

I make you 110% right here Tommy. With these new prices, it works out you get 4 games free. With all the Tuesday/Friday/possible rearranged games, you could find yourself paying more than you need to.

As for non STH supporters the price rise from £16 to £19 in advance is an 18.75% increase. If an adult turns up on the day the £21 ticket price will make them think twice.

£21 to watch Lg2 dross is daylight robbery. I feel that'll put off a lot of fair weather fans.

Fulham prices start at £329 for an adult.

IIRC Blackburn seaso's start at about £280ish

The same group they checked with on the ludicrously late change of kick off time on Saturday probably?

Joking aside, this is a really key point. Can we get confirmation that the Trust were consulted on this?

Quote form Paul Sturrock in the brochure:-
"I appreciate financially times are tough for everyone but there is a direct relation between the amount of Season Card Holders we get for next season and the budget available to improve the side. The more of your who pledge your support for next season the better quality of player we will be able to recruit"
Oh dear there won't be much money for players next year & it will be the fans fault for not buying season tickets.

Total Bollocks unless you are one of those that believe 43 players turned us down recently......:liar:

Also just noticed the brochure has a nice picture of the new ground with 4 Stands, you would have thought a picture with just the 3 stands would be out by now.
Mind you I notice no mention of the new ground in the season ticket brochure apart from the picture.

Yes I was asked as a committee member.

My personal view was to drop tickets to £100 each then let the in ground sales (food beer etc..) make up for the rest - risky but would have raised the support!

Sorry, but that's poor. Make it a fair comparison. Which is the £50 rise. Comparing last years flat rate with this years rate plus an installment charge, you are merely seeking to make the scandalise the announcement further. Why not say compare last years flat rate plus installments, compared to this years flat rate, I reckon, without doing the maths, the increase would equate to less than one match. But that's not as scandelous, so why would you?

The simple fact is the club is skint. It needs more money. They've put prices up, and as they've mentioned, they've absorbed the VAT increase, when I'm sure they refunded the VAT decrease before that. You might not like Ron Martin, you might think Tara Brady is really a girl. Either way, the club needs our help, or else we will be back in the Courthouse again. If you can't afford it, that's entirely understandable, but otherwise, I can only urge you to support the team and the club, regardless of who is in charge.

Hahahaha

Your post is the most fun ive had in ages.

Please feel free to keep on supporting the club , by which i mean Ron martin because none of the money you pay has any baring on the state of the team.

Numerous times this season the squad have been paid late and despite paul sturrock working miracles he has had no backing by the board even when we could barely field a side.

There is no upside to giving money this season at all. The team will not be invested in and the quality to visit us is dross at best. Will i support the team as you put it. Ofcourse i will. Will i buy a new season card. Absoloutely not.

I will go to the games that i want to and can get time to go to.

You may say its an unfair comparison , but it isnt.

Lots of people brought there seasons early last year to get discount and with the recession getting heavier a good majority of those will have opted for the pay monthly option.

What is tosh is your stance that the club is skint therefore we should all pay more .

Utter nonsense

Yep that theory worked with Bradford. :dizzy:

On the flip side, clubs like Daggers, Bury, Wycombe, Col U, Orient, Stevenage, Shrews, Gills etc etc etc etc etc. The ilst goes on, for the amount of teams with low(er) attendance's, but have done quite well recently. So the only direct relation I see, is that if a club is run properly, success is achieveable.

I don't mind Paul Sturrock, he's done a blinding job really, but he'll make himself look a right tool if he starts pandering to Martin & co.

Total Bollocks ...

Hard to argue with that

Another error in the Official Site News Story states that prices will increase after the 22nd April by £20 to £45. How come then a CHILD ticket is £105 before 22nd April but goes up to a whopping £160 if you cant renew by then.

Thanks Scott. Do you know how how many other committee members were consulted?

They could charge £10 or £1000 a season ticket, the club is financially buggered and run disgracefully. Mismanagement from top to bottom, until this is sorted, it wont make one iota of difference what they charge.

Thanks Scott. Do you know how how many other committee members were consulted?

Well everybody gets consulted in the committee on all matters - hence why we are elected and voted for at the trust AGM to speak as a voice for the members.

Always here to help if you have anything you wait raised at a meeting let me know mate and I will raise it and it can be discussed :)

I dont represent the views of everybody just me if there is a question you need answering regarding the trust structure or way it is run please e-mail the trust and they will respond.

These prices will probably be around the average for a Division 2 club in the South of the country, some will be less, some more, Luton Town for instance charge more for non-league football.
As much as I hate giving money to any Ron Martin business I will renew on 22 April, the amount of enthusiasm is virtually nil though. Its just that I would rather watch a game live than sit at home watching TV!
Many people will not renew or will continue their boycott while Martin is in charge. It is not so much the prices on offer but more the total mess he has made of this club and the thought of watching a poor standard of football after so many exciting years in the Tilly and Brush era when the club seemed to be progressive and part of the community.

I think the second option of the poll should be amended to include the "can cancel if we go pop" alternative. I wouldn't cancel my season card if we were crap, but paying in installments merely offers protection should the worst happen between now and August.

No one has mentioned yet that if you do renew - then you will be entered "into a draw for a chance to travel with the first team on the team coach to an away game next season" whoop whoop whoop!!!! - so its all ok.

On a serious point if prior to the info about season ticket prices being released they had given some info about the future of the club - the new stadium etc - finances and so on then the news about price increases may have been received with slightly less condemnation. The fact is no one knows what is going on and until there is some certainty anything the club tries to do will be met with ridicule and disbelief. I think the directors only have themselves to blame for this.

I will Be renewing mine as they are the club I support, and regardless of what people think or say about Martin (me included) the club like any business needs money to stay alive!!

I look forward to the return of those who dont renew when we pushing for promotion :winking:
