Safc Fan here,

Got to say I’m looking forward to the match on Sat, looking at your form it should be an entertaining match.

How many will you be bringing up?

Roughly 650 tickets sold so far I think. So anywhere from there upwards which is not a bad effort, given the distance.

Hopefully we can have a repeat of the match down at Roots Hall :p

Well there's 3 of us driving up in my car so will be at least that many! I reckon about 700 or so. Looking forward to what should be a good game as you say. I will happily take a point from this as it is a very tough fixture

I would imagine in the region of seven to eight hundred max. It's a long old jaunt by car and even longer by coach.

Should be a cracking game and we'll certainly be giving it our all and going for the win, none of this sitting back and get a point malarky. Although saying that a point would be a great result from our perspective.

First v second in the February table. Should be a cracker.

I don't expect us to replicate the QPR performance. 1-3 would do me.

Welcome to the board Safc79, always good for opinions of rival supporters before/after upcoming games (unless they are in bred Col U kids with too much half-term time on their hands)!

Any recommendations for good away pubs before/after game?
I sampled the delights of Idols before the England v Turkey game but I'm sure there's some other venues worth a vist both near the ground & in the city-centre.

I think you will find we are a very different team nowadays! The Irish have been splashing a little cash and Keane has been making a few 'little' changes here and there!;)

Should be a cracking game, a lot of teams come to the SOL and defend hoping to nick one on the break. It looks like you will be having a go.

As for pubs what you looking for?

Strippers and pound a pint of **** ie IDOLS!

or a decent ale in peasant surroundings?

LMK and i'll try to help you out.

The away fans are welcomed in all pubs as long as you don't mind a bit of friendly banter!

i'm soooooooooo looking forward to this one. meeting up with my mate who lives up there who i used to work with. going to be a great match. hopefully get a result

I'm quietly confident....

Just hoping for a good open game.

PS

Our pitch is terrible at the minute.

as long as it's not as bad of Birmingham's the other week! That was a shambles but we still managed to turn them over :hilarious:

Out of interest whats your thoughts on the promotion hopefuls this season?

We keep winning but never seem to push up the league.

16 points from a possible 18 should be at least play off places

I had Sunderland down for promotion at the start of the season, the teams that are there now should be up there come May

It's a tight thing but you guys just need to pick up points like you've been doing and I reckon you'll be in the play-offs if not better, it's so tight at the top as it is down the bottom!

As for the others, Derby, WBA, Soton, Birmingham, Preston should all stay up there.

Derby have a habit of winning without playing well (as with Davies at Preston) and I think they'll achieve automatics. If they hit playoffs, I think it'll be another year in the Championship.

West Brom, in spite of only picking up one point against us this season, are building up a real head of steam now and picking up a seemingly deserved win at Layer Road is quite indicative of how well they are playing. Could be an interesting one between them and Brimingham who have very evenly matched squads.

Of the rest, Simpson looks to be an excellent prospect but he's lost a lot of players and I think the momentum will be lost. Might make the playoffs. Southampton have some excellent players and might make a late challenge for it but don't have the depth of West Brom or Brum or the relentless style of Derby. Cardiff are unconvincing, Col U won't make the playoffs, Wolves need more goals and so do Stoke.

As for yourselves, all I've seen is that fateful game where we chanted Quinn out. You were very poor then but seem to have improved vastly. I always think that picking up points whilst not moving in the league is often a better sign than it seems. Usually, you've managed to stave off a slip down the league and longer term, moving up will probably be easier. If you can get any sort of run you'll make the playoffs and then it really looks to be a lottery given how the last few Championship playoffs have panned out.

My tip would probably be Derby and West Brom automatics with Southampton winning the playoffs.
