Thank goodness you are going to attend this meeting so that we will learn the truth rather than the slanted comments that the to**er that is J will likely put on here.
I think that the Chairman should have put any comments he wished to make in the next match programme rather than waste his time talking to that clown.

On SZ we try not to impose restrictions on freedom of speech unless we feel the need to edit/delete posts that could be libellous and in the past we have had stick from posters when we have deleted messages. We tend to leave posts on view to allow other members to judge the mental capabilities of some posters and only delete the worst posts for public decency, libel or personal abuse reasons.
It is a shame some posters seem to have vendettas against some players, the Chairman or the management of the club, the problem we have is "are these comments for real" or are the just posted to get a reaction from the rest of the members ? Some people on the Zone act like children at times and it isn't clever.

It is a pity that we cannot afford to employ someone to moderate the posts to edit any post felt to be "naughty" as the mods do not have the time to view every single post made as we all have jobs, lives, sleep etc to contend with.
As John is going to be present at today's meeting any observations he makes may shape the way the Zone moves forward.

I personally don't think Ron Martin has anything to answer for as I do feel that he has everyones best interests at heart in overseeing a new stadium and trying to make S.U.F.C the best team it can be. I also don't feel that "Shrimperzone" as anything to answer for either as its a fans forum for fans so what does the club expect? That everyone is in total agreement with the players we have bought and sold over the past year or in which the manner the club is run, with many fans having purchased shares in the club?. The way we voice an oppinion ( in my view) should be aired for all and sundry as long as attacks against players are not of a personel nature or not the truth. Ron Or Tilly or even the tea lady can log on here as fans and discuss anything if they want to, without any influence from others but if the comments that a player played cr@p in a certain game offends anyone( when witnessed by 8000 supporters) then tough cookie. If my son plays cr@p in a game on sunday, I tell him. Its not personel, just in my oppinion the truth. There has to be some balance, yeh, but please dont let us start going down the road of changing or deleting posts because they might deemed to be bit risky as it would be a very boring forum!

It surprises me how rarely I hear the possibility mentioned that the new stadium and attached developments might be a good piece of business for both parties.

Let's be honest here, when we were stuck towards the bottom of League 2, losing money and with no guarantee of having anywhere to play in the future most of us would have bitten the hand off of anybody offering us even a crappy new stadium like Colchester's. Ron could easily have satisfied a majority by proposing to build a bland, mediocre new home for us but he hasn't - he's submitted plans for a stadium which opens up a whole new world of possibilities for this football club.

Is anybody really going to be that upset if it turns out that he gets a return on his investments too? He's a businessman, but that doesn't automatically mean that he's a Bill Archer type looking to screw over anybody and everybody for a quick buck. Given the time, effort and money that he has evidently invested into trying to do right by the club I think he's entitled to be more than a little upset by some of the allegations being aimed at him.

Fair play if Mr Martin wishes to quash some of the borderline libelous commentary about him on here, but at risk of upsetting some of his close allies on SZ, could I reccomend that Scriv should maybe make it a priority to proof read his articles on the website before taking the time to trawl these messageboards for supposed dirt. Absolve, exonerate, excuse, clear and exculpate all work, but alleviate?

Having a media manager with a poor grasp of the English language is unfortunate. It is especially unfortunate when said media manager is otherwise a hard working and conscientious employee. Get yourself that proof reader.

So much so the No 1 protagonist has a meeting with Ron tomorrow morning at 9-15....I will be there and we will put all of this bolix to bed once and for all.

In fairness he does make releases fairly regularly and only did so recently.

I cant see how he can keep releasing formal respsonses everytime new questions get raised as he would be doing it every day.

If he can reply to your questions and those relating to stadium ownership and how revenue will affect the club that would be very useful though.
