I have it from the The "Horses Mouth" so's to speak that Ron is livid at some of the comments laid at his doorstep by certain members of the Zone last evening..

So much so the No 1 protagonist has a meeting with Ron tomorrow morning at 9-15....I will be there and we will put all of this bolix to bed once and for all.

Irate Ian?? not suprised that he is livid to be honest after all he has done for the club...

Good, hopefully it will shut a few people up

If Ron Martin gets uptight about stuff he reads on an internet forum, he's in the wrong job. Similarly if a footballer is going to lose confidence because about 1% of the crowd are saying unpleasant things, he, too, is in the wrong job. You take the acclaim when things go well and the flak if it all goes wrong.

Even when it's totally unjustified? I think he's allowed the right of reply don't you?

Hence why its a public forum but then again it would be highly unproffesional for him to post on here and taking the bait.

Ron if your reading this ignore all the muppets who talk crap, your doing a sterling job and carry on as you are.

He's not the first. The Sheffield Wednesday Chairman started legal proceedings againt several people who post on a fan forum.

a posting on here / the official site could be sufficient though!

Sorry but I don't agree. So far, we have seen little to prove that Ron has any other intent than making the club a success (plus of course the commercial success for himself as he's a businessman after all!). If these people want to make unsubstantiated claims and complaints about the chairman they should at least be man enough to say them to his face and to allow him to state his case, as I would in everyday life.

Absolutely if he wishes. He can reply on here (not recommended), he can reply on the club's own website or he can do what most Chairmen would do. Ignore it, or better still don't read it in the first place. Ron Martin is a very busy man facing lots of huge challenges. Time and energy spent pursuing comments on internet forums is, in my opinion, unproductive.

Hmmm, I think this thread needs to be closed as it will turn into another lets slag off Ron Martin off thread.

Yes and I believe he was successful as well in suing for defamation if I remember correctly. It just goes to show that some people should think before they write the kind of cr@p they do on a public forum as some chairmen just won't stand for having their name and reputation tarnished without good reason. :madman:

And so he should be as well. I'm surprised Ron is going to the trouble of wasting his time to be honest, but I think it once again proves his credentials. As I pointed out on one of the threads last night, which is clearly the one which has prompted the meeting, but some of the comments were close enough for Ron to file a law suit. Perhaps Ron's planning on presenting that law suit tomorrow morning, or maybe even a Roots Hall banning order.

Certainly actions would be louder than words.

And no, I'm pretty sure it's not Irate Ian. Ian may possibly be going about things in an unusual step, but Ron and him met several months ago and Ian was satisfied with the answers at the time. The only issue that I understand which Ian's not happy with, is that Ron hasn't got back to him as promised on a number of questions. I'm sure we've all missed a deadline at work, or forgotten to follow up on something before. I'm sure within a few weeks Ron will sort out Ian's answers as well.

If a huge club like Liverpool are having trouble funding a stadium, I can't understand how some people just think Ron can magic this money up.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's admirable that he is taking time to meet the fans, just that if I was in his position I wouldn't. Personally I'd have a shut up or **** off (obviously not in those words) statement from a legal expert put up by the owners of the forum, with the threat of legal action for offensive comments, and that would be the end of it.
