I never trusted that Carl Reader offer anyway. We would have ended up at square one with him at some point. We were desperate we wanted Ron replaced but then it would have backfired massively.

The main man behind 'Seventy7' is a Ketan Makwana. Who possess's no companies that have made any significant amount of revenue. Ever. The address listed for some of his companies is a 1 bed flat. For others he uses virtual offices out of London. Believe me when I say it's a Chinese communist parade of red flags when 'businessman' do this. To call him a fraud would be too innocuous, a Billy Liar type serial fantasist would be getting somewhat closer to what he is.
Ketan has been on a crusade the last couple years doing all he can to get his mitts on a football club. Thankfully to no avail.
The Press and Journal publication did a really good shakedown on him just under a week ago -

Also check out the author of "Ugly Game", Martin Calladine, on twitter who has also done some scathing threads and background on him.
Just the typical 'Fake it till you make it' tyre kicker type resume which is filled with completely preposterous fabrications like making up a lie that David Cameron hired you as a special advisor.
His podcast appearances are like if you got hold of a human 3D printer tasked with making a LinkedIn cliche come to life in physical form.
Fortunately Ron didn't even give this mob the time of day (One of Ketans past times is turning up at football clubs interested in buying, gets a free tour round the stadium acting all curious and then never following it up and ghosting)

Yes I was dealing with Ketan who acted as broker via Seventy7 for the funding from Castlepines to make the offer. I'm as disappointed as anyone else would be to see this news; however, the SUFC deal would have needed the money in the bank as it wasn't a 'no money down' or future promise of investment - we were proposing a standard acquisition.
I say proposing, because as I've said before, we (as Seventy7) didn't even get to the table despite our efforts.
The conversations between me and Ketan about the potential takeover were at the point that Seventy7 had just started - in fact, I suspect the company may even have been formed after the conversations.
And as a supporter, I'd have made sure of it being done properly (despite what some thought about me not being interested in the club). Ultimately it'd have been my neck and name on the line locally with mates, family etc; and wider from a business perspective; and the 'person of significant control' would almost certainly have been the end investors.
For clarity, Ketan had no involvement in my conversations mid 2023 to try to salvage the club.
If anyone wants to chat, I'm in the West every match and fairly easily spotted. I just want the same as everyone else sat at Roots Hall...
