Ticket News Rochdale (a) - Thursday 15th May - NL Playoff Eliminator

I'm not sure why someone who bought a share or 2 20+ years ago would get any priority.

Season card holders definitely and probably should be an away game loyalty scheme for those that travel away from home often, but so difficult to do if you have to buy tickets from away teams direct.
Dont know if you remember but our first season in the NL the club did a loyalty points system. They produced a list of away games and points against each one. For example Daggers 10 pts, Gateshead 50. But you had to email in and send proof of purchase so that they could add it to your account on the Sufc site. I did this and used to send end for my group but know many others didnt and couldnt be bothered so it was scrapped thereafter

I can imagine that was an administrative nightmare for the club - with no real benefit for them (was it actually needed last season?).

From a fan survey sometime ago I think the club might be looking at a membership scheme - so fans will be able to purchase the right for priority tickets each season.

It's a tough one - there's no right or wrong. You could argue that fans that attend away games (but not home) shouldn't have priority as they're not supporting Southend financially (i think it's correct we get no away ticket income from away matches).

Guess it's sort of a nice problem for the club to have.

I do and I used to go to a lot of away games, I regularly emailed the club with proof, never got a reply and points were never added. I think the scheme was unmanageable once away clubs started selling our tickets.

Works far better when clubs sell their own tickets direct via their website, and SUFC don't get involved. I go away regularly, but not home, so it's frustrating when we start making ticket sales complex. In reality there are so few games where we genuinely sell out and with 1500 tickets available this doesn't look like being one of them.

shrimpers trust have had to bring forward their departure times coz of roadworks
Here’s the revised pick up times
Away Travel to Rochdale

Due to major roadworks enroute to Rochdale, on the advise of our coach operator we are having to bring forward the departure times for our coaches as follows:

ROOTS HALL 12:00
THE ELMS 12:10
HADLEIGH CHURCH 12:15
TARPOTS CORNER 12:25
THE WATERMILL 12:40
FORTUNE OF WAR 12:45

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Let’s also hope for the sake of our club no one plans any retribution.
We are finally getting the good press from rival clubs and establishments we visit, so let’s not spoil it for a few idiots.
Not suggesting you would btw 🙂
In all the away games I've attended, I've always found our support to be well behaved, but if it kicked off, I know which side I'd rather be on.

Because that was one of the rights given to purchasers of shares at the time of the sale.

Given everyone knew the shares were essentially worthless that was effectively what shareholders purchased.

Which answers your own question.

Purchased from a rat of an owner renowned for being without any honor 20+ years ago and hoping for recognition of said transaction for a play off ticket allocation in 2025 under new ownership.

Its a bit of a stretch dont you think.

What makes you say it won't sell out?

Tickets have been on sale literally 24 hours and still a week of sales ahead.

Lots of people get paid tomorrow and will likely buy then and before they go on general sale.

Would be at all surprised to see well over a 1000 sold within the next 24-48 hours

I am a season ticket holder but don’t go to every away game but I do believe the fantastic supporters who travel to all the away games ( to some very crap grounds ) should have top priority when there is a demand for away tickets so I hope everyone gets a ticket ok 👍
I totally agree , obviously those who rarely go to away games there days like myself, we will all be at the play off final 🙄 bring on the fairytale ending/ beginning of the new FL era.

For another thread but the club does have the option of selling away tickets on their website. Functionality must be there. Might be better for clubs thst sell unallocated seating tickets rather than those that allow you to choose a particular seat.

Would be interested to see if clubs at EFL level sell away tickets, or if its all sold by the home team.
