No, disagree - RM doing something that makes sense - pull the other one. This is nothing more than a desperate cry for money as the ST sales are seriously woefully below sales target. Nobody believes him about anything any more - one way or another RM is making money out of this offer.

Would have made far more sense to cushion the blow with a lower increase, and no credit charges. As for an offer from the club to entice us to buy, how about, confirming that all the players have been paid in full and up to date, the transfer embargo has been rescinded and PS will get funds for new players - a little bit of the truth would have gone a long way to me digging deep to pay for the increase.

Whether it's desperation or not providing an offer to people who renew is cheaper to the club than changing the prices at this stage, which would damage the very limited PR Ron has left. And this should increase ticket renewals, and even if it doesn't I'd expect it to increase club shop sales, which is good business for the club.

Anyone else had th epestering 'phone calls from the club asking why they haven't renewed yet/didn't renew this season?

Desperate or what!! Some people are easily bought these days.
I don't understand why this is immediately taken as desperate, it's a move to try and increase sales. If Sainsburys offered that if you spend £40 instore you get a game for half price would that be taken as desperate? Businesses do things similar to this everyday, it's just an incentive for people to a) renew and b) spend money in the club shop
Yes Ron has probably done this because renewals don't look as good as he'd hoped, but at least he's trying something instead of blaming everyone else for once

if you bothered to read it it states... £20 off the Away shirt OR (a key word) a £15 voucher which can be purchased on anything in the shop.... go back to your Goalkeeper moaning... Flavs or Bart?

RM has no PR left, he has spun enough spin with his able sidekick Tiara to alienate the majority of this clubs fanbase.

How do you see this as 'should increase ticket renewals?', if you were going to buy your ST you were going to buy it (me). Those who decided not to buy or renew aren't going to come flocking back for some £20 off a shirt voucher.

I suppose it could also be seen as a kind gesture from Ron to the fans as if to say sorry for the necessity of an increase in ticket prices.

I'd guess the majority of fans do not use SZ, they are probably aware that Ron isn't a good guy, but they won't express the hate some on here do. And some people will see this as £20 off the original price, people aren't going to come flocking back, but some may be tempted. Also as I said people who were going to renew anyway will likely use the voucher, increasing shop sales

Shove the price up 90 quid and give you back a 15 quid voucher, yeah bargain of the century!

How many people who weren't going to renew will now think "wow, I can now pay only £30 instead of £50 for an item which cost about £3.50 to manufacture" and rush down to the ticket office? Not that many, I'd suggest.

Fulham, Charlton, Millwall, Crystal Palace are amongst relatively local clubs at a higher level offering cheaper (in some cases much cheaper) season tickets.

But these clubs do not share our financial predicament, and that is the bottom line. The prices have had to be pitched at a level to help (in theory)....whether the increase offsets the non-renewers remains to be seen.

You obviously don't know much about crystal palace
