There is a rumour of a £1m offer on the table for Dru from the PL. As Ron has proved in recent times he has Rightly held his nerve in these situations, which he has had little credit for. Obviously the right thing for Dru would be to stay as next season will be so important for him.

Lets hope as these offers start coming in and increasing that the young lad can stay focused. I don't care what anyone says Lenny was not focused for several weeks at the start of last season.

If we are to lose Dru it will be for far more than a million and hopefully with a loan back option.

He is a talent and comparisons to lookman are unfair. Lookman is a forward and Dru is a central midfielder.

Dry will play premier league football, of that I am sure.

Hardly a joke is it - league 1 player that has played a handful of games.

Nothing to do with the fact that he's only played a handful of games, it's based on what he's done in those games and the potential he has - pretty sure a lot of clubs have paid far more than a million for a player that's played a lot fewer games than Dru!!

Liverpool paid £2m for 14 year old Sheyi Ojo from MK Dons back in 2011.

Played probably double the amount of games and scored goals. Also reckon Everton probably regret paying that
Why would they regret paying a relatively small £7.5 million when he’s doing really well on loan in the Bundesliga for a top 6 side? He’d only played 45 games at Charlton before leaving for Everton and was also older than Dru is so wanting a lot more than £1 million is not at all unreasonable.

And obviously Lookman scores goals, he’s a forward, that’s what he’s meant to do. Everton wouldn’t have been interested if he hadn’t. Dru is not expected to score goals in his position (despite being unlucky to score on numerous occasions) so clubs aren’t going to judge his ability on that.

IN 4 years time if Dru keeps progressing he will be worth 10 million minimum ,,but as we will also be in the premier league then he willstay with us and win a full ENgland cap and a place at the 2922 world cup for england ,maybe even lift the trophy at the end of it .:smile::Worthy::happy:

The only decision I'm slighly disappointed with, is offering Timlin a new contract - though he did well in centre midfield last season, I think we need to be looking at better players if we want to push on

All teams need squad players and Tims is a good one

Easy mistake to make that the proposed date for opening of our new stadium.

I doubt we'll have a big squad, so we need players capable of pushing for a starting line up, and Timlin doesn't fit that category if we want to push on.

I would rather use some of our youngsters as squad players.

What does "squad" player mean?
If it means willing, and able to play out of position and in several position then "utility" or "adaptable" is another label.
Len showed he could play away from his usual role, as does JW and Tims, before them Bilel. If we are to have 18-20 core first team players then a few of them need to be of that persuasion. Kyps and Demi might fit that too?

To be fair that's one of your most realistic posts I've seen ;-)

Only McLaughlin provided more assists than Timlin this season. I wouldn't say he's surplus to requirements just yet.

Something that some may have forgotten is that in talks over a new deal doesn't necessarily mean they're staying.

We could be in talks with someone CP isn't convinced by but lowballing because we could do worse and might get a bargain but equally aren't overly fussed if someone else comes in and makes a better offer and takes them off our hands.

Then there's always the likes of Corr, Thompson, Atkinson, potentially Oxley, who we're in talks with but decide to move on anyway for more money or whatever reason.

It's crazy, we had the most expensive 13-year-old at £175k then one year older and it's £2m!

For everyone comparing Lookman and Yearwood, perhaps more apt comparisons would be Nick Powell [up to £6m] or Ashley Westwood [£2m]. Both midfielders, both scored goals - one more than the other - which is something Dru needs to add to his game. But take into consideration inflation on the last six years who knows...

For me, Oxley starts & Ted on the bench, the rest out out on loan.

Conveniently left the number of assists out, which was only 3 (or 2 depending on which site you check) so not really a figure to use as a argument to keep him!!!

It's funny that people slate Timlin in the same way that they slated Atkinson. Yet after Atkinson left people realised that you need workhorses in your team. You need the kind of player you bring on away from home to help get you over the line when you're under the cosh.

Timlin is one of those players. 100% commitment and one of the only players in our team that installs a bit of fear into the opposition.

He doesn't cost the earth and is a real asset to the team. Am i suggesting that he plays every minute of every game. No of course not , but he will always try and get in the matchday 11.

When we won the league 1 title it was all about barrett Eastwood and the goat etc.

Bradbury, pettifer, hunt all got over looked as making up the numbers. In fact all of them were vital components to a larger squad.
