Preston Saturday

Quote[/b] (Horse @ Nov. 08 2006,15:52)]Thanks for the club tips.

So who bar Eastwood will pose a threat? We've got a good engine room on its day in McKenna and Sedgwick, two decent wingers in Whaley (top scorer) and Pugh. We will probably field Dichio and Nugent up front (although Agyemang & Ormerod are scoring of late). Our defence is quite young and you could say in-experienced at this level bar the experience of Alexander at RB.  The two centre halves have stepped up a league: Chilvers (Col******r) and St Ledger (P'boro). LB is Matt Hill who has been with us 18 months and starting to pick up his form.

We had to rebuild our defence after the sale of two key players and a season long injury.  The young lads are doing well and have matured fast.

I envisage Sodje will mark Dichio, who does Nugent face?

Hows your LB suited to facing a tricky winger?
Our left back is great from dead ball situations. If your winger is pacey then he might stuggle a little as he isn't the quickest. Should be a good game, hope to take 3 points Saturday and would like to see the same passion from the players and supporters as was shown Tuesday against the Mancs. Up The Blues. Forget the Toothbrush in Rayleigh it's very GRIM.

Are you the one on the left or the right, Wrongun?

Would also like to see us get the ball on the floor like we did Tuesday. At times it was like going back to last season. Seems to me that too many times this year we have resorted to long ball stuff as soon as things are not going to plan.

I am worried that I think we may come back down to earth with a big bump. Normally happens after such a big result - their efforts the other night can't have left a lot in the tank and motivationally must be hard

Central midfield will be interesting - Maher's suspended.

I only just saw that. Crikey.

If Gutts isn't in contention at all then we're going into the match with no natural central midfielders in the squad.

Soccerbase lists Kev with 4 bookings. As it did when Francis was suspended for '5'. Are we getting done by the FA!?

Can anybody tot up 5 for Kev?

We have no choice but to play Luke though. What else can we do? Moussa? Che?

I hope my 'whats so special' comment didnt sound pompous, wasn't mean to, it was a valid question.

It looks like you guys have a small sqaud then? Thats one thing we at Preston don't have to worry about, our last manager was keen on 'competition for places' so we had cover in depth. I think its 31 senior professionals on our books at present!

We've got three centre-midfielders in the squad, one is injured, one suspended and the other has handed in a transfer request and has probably played for us for the last time.

We should be able to get 16 players together for saturday but we've certainly not got too much of that competition for places thing going on here.

Anyone know what the ticket count is for tomorrow?

You would of thought after a performance like that, a few would come back.
