At least you'll get to stand up the whole game.
There's not exactly what you call luxurious legroom between the seats!

How's your LB suited to facing a tricky winger?

can I quote stodge?

Hill's not a bad defender, he's good going forward but can get caught out. Pugh is good at backtracking but if he can't help Hill out I often fear the worst as the youngsters in the middle of the defence do sometimes get far too easily stretched.

Whos your right winger? Is he the tyoe of player to get to the byline and cross the ball or does he tend to cut inside more?

Our winger Whaley tends to do a bit of both, a great shot on him too. Most of his goals have been 20+ Yards!

Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Jamaican international, played last night and, according to one paper, made Heinze look like a 'pudding'. While undoubtedly tricky, people bemoan his lack of end product.

Horse, do you ever go to the National Football Museum, at Deepdale obviously? I went there once and was supposed to be doing a project for them for my MA, but never did anything and almost failed the course
tounge.gif

Good museum though. Is the wall display charting league finishing positions for all divisions going back to goodness-knows-when still there? I must have looked at that for a good half hour tracking our league progress over the years.

Yeah been in once or twice (I live in Leeds). First time I was in there for about 4 hours and only got as far as the 1980's!

Yes the League tables from year dot are still there to my knowledge. Any Shrimpers who travel North to the game at Deepdale, head to the museum its great. Worth a day trip just to see it I'd say.

They dont really do anything. However look out for the "stadium security" guys in the Orange jackets. If you want to stand in the wrong place they are likely to come down hard on you, however if you prefer to invade the pitch, it doesnt seem to be a problem.

The standard of stewarding in the championship is something to be debated and I am sure it is the same in any of the other leagues. We at Preston, have a group called CAST (Club and Supporters Together) which is formed from Supporters Clubs Representitives and Club Officials. Stewarding and the differential treatment week in week out at various football grounds is something we do discuss often. You like us are probably frustrated by the two-faced approach that seems to be apparent on matchdays with regards to the handling of home and opposition supporters especially with regards to minor incidents such as minority standing. Our club is trying to put things right, whether they will is something we will have to wait and see about!

Is it easy getting tickets for PNE games? I've still got quite a few friends in Lancaster from uni days and we've been threatening for ages to go to a game there (or Bolton or Wigan). What are prices like? Good to see if Nugent's as good as they say.

Can't see you having trouble getting tickets, new faces are always welcome we're never near capacity!

Well only sometimes when the bigger teams are in town. Tickets range between £20-25 (adult).

Good to see Roots Hall only charging us £20. It makes me cringe when teams charge beyond this for visiting fans afterall we travel far and wide to watch games. We travelled to Derby and were charged two price ranges for upper tier & lower tier. NB.: no tiers in away end! more like front and back! Anyway the stewards said "sit anywhere" so fans with both price range tickets sat mixed! Not on that!

On his day Nugent is a handful, he does have his off days though. I personally think he would struggle if he were to go to the Premiership in January. Can't see it happening unless we get something in the region of £5m+ on the table, we've turned down close bids for £4m+ from Everton and Shef. Utd. in the past. He's still got 2 years on his contract.

Cool. MEN was saying Wigan are sniffing around. The last time I saw him was when the U21s beat Germany and he looked pretty useful iirc.

Better than our Fred?

Maybe not after last night eh

Eastwood is a good player I have been impressed with his performances when I have caught hold of Southend on the TV.

Nugent is one of those players that can hit a ball from anywhere and score, he's an all round striker to be honest. Since Paul Simpson took the reins, Nuge has started hold the ball up alot more rather than just running at players which he can do with pace and trickery. He's a great asset and were not under pressure to sell having balanced the books with the sales of Davis (Shef Utd) for £2m and Mears (WHU) for £1m. That is good news, but like I posted earlier silly offers on the table and who knows! At least all our strikers are scoring and Mellor who we signed from Liverpool will be fit soon to add more competition to the frontline.

How would you describe Eastwoods game/contract situation?

Yep, if your after Indie - try the Pink Toothbrush. Rayleigh is about 7 miles away.

But don't wear your best trainers!
Lol, nice to see nothing's changed much.... Still selling cans of Breaker lager?
Nah - Cans of Red Stripe and a sticky carpet!

Anyone know what sort of crowd we'll be looking at on Sat...

Personally, i'll be shocked if it's over 9,000...

rock.gif

I would hope we get 9,500 (so an average crowd for this season)...

Some of those who didnt get tickets for Tuesday will want to come along for example - and maybe one or two newbies (if we're lucky)

Or it could go the other way...

All the "floaters" who may of gone on Saturday, wont now, as they managed to bag a ticket for the Man Ure game?..
