Yeah Sturrocks first one was more about achieving safety, so the end part wasn't much to write home about either.

I genuinely believe play-offs are a possibility with a tight defense and with Phil in charge. However, I would be happy to survive and think Phil would've done a great job if he keeps us up.

Don't forget, this is the same manager that the majority wanted sacked prior to our historic run at the back end of the season and ultimate promotion. Some (DWB) even wanted him sacked 10 minutes before the start of our Stevenage away leg!

I would be interested in starting a poll, "How far down the league would we need to be at Xmas for us to start calling for Phil's head again"

Onwards and upwards

I can't deny that there were some who wanted Brown gone, but it was never a majority by any stretch of the imagination. Just because people say something over and over again doesn't make it a majority, ask mrsblue.

My answer to that poll would be second.

My answer to the current poll is that I think we'll be solid, but not play-offs. Bottom half of the top half in other words. As a minimum, we must make sure we're 4 places above Col U - anything less than that and we could get relegated!

my personal opinion is if we are going okay come the january transfer window ,then PB and RM will open the war chest and go after whatever is needed to achieve at minimum a playoff position, also by then they will know which players can and cannot hack it in division one,so could be changes either way.

Hope for a nice solid mid table finish. We need to consolidate next season, strengthen and build for a push promotion in a couple of years time.

I said after we won league 1 last time round that it was a bit of a disaster, despite the success. much as it was amazing, we weren't ready for the Championship and trying to strengthen and rebuild a winning team in a league that would be difficult to compete in financially was a step too far.

we can revisit this thread at the end of next season, to see who's got it spot on. And for those who do get it correct, the prize will be either a signed copy of the SZ Eggheads episode (if it's ever on) or a pair of Cricko's old pantaloons.

Considering you set the poll to close in July 2016, I'm pretty sure I can nail this.... :winking:

Me too, I'm hoping we'll flirt with the play offs but won't be disappointed to finish 9th or 10th.

Very happy with our midfield, attack remains to be seen, our defence I think is good enough to survive at this level but I'm not convinced it's promotion quality. Overall I think we'll be safe, and with some good attacking additions maybe even top half.

I went for 7th - 12th but a playoff place isn't out of the question.

Maybe it's blind optimism but I can''t see us in a relegation scrap.

I disagree, those memories in the Championship were priceless and even though we lost a lot of games I loved every minute.

Champions by March. Aim for the stars mo-fos. :pig:
We can dream and hope and prey. As long as we stay up and finish above col u I don't care.
However if we can keep our players fit and keep our discipline under control I think we will make the play - offs.

Champions obviously, though I would take automatic promotion or even a play-off win again. I really don't see the point of wanting to consolidate in L1. If we were lucky enough to go up again, the cut we would receive from the current TV deal would be almost seven times as much as we will we get in L1 next season. And of course you can't get promoted to the PL without playing in the Championship.
