The funny thing is that the biggest story seems to have been missed, and that is that Lord Ashcroft has also said DC was aware of his non-dom status well before he says, i.e. before the 2010 election.

If true, that means DC lied...again.

Far be it from me not to to enjoy anyone having a bit of fun at Cameron's expense (I can just imagine the next cover of Private Eye now-they've had a good "poke" (sorry) at JC in the current issue) but there are some serious questions here.

Ashcroft clearly expected a Government job for his 8 million quid donations to the Tories.Is that par for the course these days for large donations to the Tories?

There's also the issue of when exacly Cameron knew that Ashcroft was a non-dom for tax purposes.Ashcroft says he knew well before the 2010 election Cameron says just before.Who's lying?

Neither is lying. Both are vague terms that can legitimately be interpreted in different ways.

Isn't the fact that Ashcroft didn't get a job proof that donations don't buy government jobs?
