So we insisted on playing Macca and forcing Moussa out on the left, in the next season, Macca is playing poor in League One and Moussa is getting a regular starting place and putting in decent performances in the Championship .... don't you just love football.

although to be fair Moussa has played on the right, left and middle for Donny!

Franck Mooooooooouuuussa has scored for Donny in the Championship.

Mildenhall is on the bench for Millwall v Coventry (as is Freddy). No sign of O'Keefe at Palace.

In League One Francis is on the bench still and McCormack has been dropped from the XVIII entirely (or could be off on holiday again).

Scannell is presumably injured at the Daggers.

Adam Barrett will be kissing the badge of Orient, having extended his stay there until the end of the season. He starts but the Os have already conceded a goal.

In the 4th division, Francis Laurent is on the bench for Northampton, not let go last summer but might as well have been - there's no sign of Paterson for Stockport.

Christophe is playing park football in France as far as I can remember.

How this team was ever relegated is a mystery to me.

You're obsessed!

Especially for Westy, one year on where now are the "golden generation" that we let go and how have they fared?

Mildenhall - spent last season on the bench for Championship Millwall. Impressed them enough for a new contract
Francis - Sold to League One Charlton, where despite featuring fairly regularly had an unsuccessful season. Looks set to sign for League One Bournemouth.
Barrett - bombed out of Championship Palace and has gone to League One Bournemouth
Sankofa - last heard of at Conference South Farnborough.
Reynolds - no appearances for League One Dagenham. One year through a 3 (!) year deal.
Christophe - bombed out of League One Oldham. Last heard of in 4th division French football.
McCormack - bombed out of League One Charlton. Looks set for move to League Two Dagenham.
Moussa - successful loan spell at Championship Doncaster, earnt new contract at Championship Leicester
O'Keefe - didn't do much (anything?) last season, but hasn't been shipped out of Championship Palace. Jury out.
Scannell - injury-hit (surprise!) season for League One Dagenham, who were relegated. Entering the second year of a two year deal.
Laurent - unsuccessful spell at League Two Northampton. Signed for Conference Lincoln.
Barnard - sold to Southampton in the January transfer deadline as would have been out of contract in the summer. Has done reasonably well there, but I'm not sure he's an automatic selection and he faces a lengthy jail sentence if convicted of GBH.
Calver - released from Yeovil after 5 sub appearances.

Not released - Grant still a regular at Southend; Herd released this summer and without a club to date; Paterson on trial at League Two Oxford; Spencer released from Conference Lincoln and now on trial at Conference North Barrow.

Reading that makes me wonder if even if they had been paid every month we still might have gone down. Hard to believe now that bunch plus Peter Clarke, Theo Robinson and Dervitte narrowly missed out on a play off spot in 8/9.

2010

Mildenhall - unused sub for Championship Millwall
Francis - not in League One's Charlton's XVI
Barrett - played and conceded a penalty as League One Bournemouth managed by Lead Bradbury (& also containing Darryl Flahavan and Scott Malone in their starting line-up) were tonked 3-0.
Scannell - wasn't in Daggers XVI (injured again?). Also omitted were ex-Shrimpers Kevin Maher & Duran Reynolds
Moussa - not included in Sven's Leicester XVI in the Championship
McCormack - came on as late sub for League Two Swindon
O'Keefe - not included in Dougie Freedman's Palace squad who lost their championship match to promoted Posh.
Christophe, Laurent, Spencer (and Nicolau, all managed by Steve Tilson and Paul Brush) - the Conference doesn't kick off until next week
Barnard - not in Southampton XVI as they beat Dirty Leeds, for whom Lloyd Sam and Billy Paynter both came on as subs
Calver - is he attached to a club?

2011

Easton, Evans, Comminges, Bouzid, Soares, Herd - still unattached (at least none of them played for a Football League club this weekend)

Herd started for Ebbsfleet in their last friendly against Erith and Belvedere

Calver has been on trial at Histon and Bishops Stortford

Championship

Lee Barnard was again missing for top of the table Southampton, as was Billy Paynter for Dirty Leeds, although ex-loanee Lloyd Sam made their bench. Neither Leicester (Moussa) nor Millwall (Mildenhall) played, but Middlesbrough and Nicky Bailey did, and they are second.

League One

Barrett got sent off for conceding his second penalty of the season in Bournemouth's 3-1 defeat, who again featured everyone's favourite dwarf in goal plus Scott Malone at left-back. Barrett's former centre-half partner, Jean-Yves M'voto also saw red, whilst playing for Oldham. Simon Francis was missing once more for top of the table Charlton, as Chrissy Powell's team turned over Col Ewe. Shame.

League Two

Alan McCormack played against the club he turned down. It looks like he might have made a bad choice, as Dagenham beat Swindon. Scannell is still missing for the Daggers, as is Maher (he did end up there, didn't he?).

Conference

Lincoln lost 1-0 at home to Kidderminster. Despite all the ex-Shrimpers on their books, none of them played with the closest any of them getting to any action being Nicky Nicolau who was an unused sub alongside Mark Hone's son.

Elsewhere in the conference Hayes and Yeading, featuring Louis Soares and Southend legend Mark Bentley, lost 4-0 at Newport County. Current Shrimper Lewis-James Merrick was an unused sub in Braintree's 5-0 romp against Grimsby.

The big news is that Steve Mildenhall has dislodged David Forde as Millwall's first choice keeper. He kept top of the Championship Southampton (still no Lee Barnard for them) down to just one goal.

In League One, Barrett was suspended and missed Bournemouth's 2-1 defeat at Carlisle. Still no Francis at Charlton (has he moved on?).

In League Two, McCormack was missing for Swindon (dropped? injured?). Scannell came on as sub for the Daggers and was booked. No sign of Maher.

In non-league, it was a case of same again Lewis-Merrick James was again an unused sub for Braintree and no ex-Shrimpers made it onto the pitch as Lincoln lost again.

In Scotland, Matt Paterson was subbed after 83 minutes as Hamilton drew.

Charlton are trying to off load Francis after his move to Bournemouth fell through.

Scott Spencer scored 4 goals this weekend. I thought that Merrick James-Lewis (or what even his name is) on loan there, so still our player, or am I wrong.

Championship

No Barnard for Southampton - when's his case? Is he still injured? Ex-loanee Dan Harding was on the bench though
Steve Mildenhall played and kept a clean sheet for Millwall
No Moussa for Leicester, guess he'll be out on loan. Who's Leicester manager these days?

League One

Darryl Flahavan conceded a late equaliser for Bournemouth from a header from a cross. Plus ca change. Francis also played for the Cherries, but there was no Adam Barrett. Anyone know why?
Ex-loanee Matt Heath shipped 6 (SIX) for Col Ewe at home to Stevenage as Col Ewe lost 6 (SIX) - 1 at home to Stevenage. Fellow loanee John White was on the bench throughout the 6 (SIX) - 1 home defeat.
Huddersfield kept a clean sheet in the absence of Peter Clarke.
Charlie MacDonald is without a Football League Club but he scored in an exhibition match against Leyton Orient.

League Two
No Scannell for the Daggers is he injured again or was he released? They did have former Shrimper Kevin Maher playing as they beat Barnet 3-0 in their relegation 6-pointer. No Duran Reynolds either.
Alan McCormack played in Swindon's 1-0 defeat to Martin Ling's Torquay. He wasn't booked.

Conference
Both Laurent and Christophe played in Lincoln's home 2-1 derby defeat to Grimsby. Laurent was subbed with 20+ minutes to go. Nicky Nicolau incidentally was an unused sub (not in the dive, dive, dive sense).

Lower than that
Scott Spencer played but didn't score in Hyde's 1-1 draw against Stalybridge Celtic

Scoring goals for MK Dons after they sold Sam Baldock.
