I understand they're two different types of player but they've both still produced the goods. Styles of play shouldn't come into it.

I voted for Barker, Hall second for me with his performances since turn of the year and Corr in third spot with his haul.

Grant - no way, I would walk him to a new club if they offered us a decent amount for him in the summer.

You won't have long to wait

Going back a few years voting used to be via a slip in the programme. How many people could be bothered to spend £1.oo plus network charge to text in your vote, and how many of the really older generation would even know how to. I would think the voting was from a very low proportion of the crowd thus you will get a strange result.

I've got nothing against Barker winning player of the season but I feel for Barry Corr. To have scored 20 goals before today and be overlooked for at least 3rd place is shocking in my opinion.

Was a different story when Eastwood scored that many in this league.

I agree. However I didn't vote, and therefore don't have a right to complain...

Cant believe people slagging Corr, any player that can score 20 goals in any league is a quality striker. Eastwood was a hero according to some on here, but corr has matched him on goals pretty much soo ...

The difference between Eastwood and Corr is expectation and hope. We expected Freddy to score -- we hope Barry will.

Completely agree, Grant has been good in places this season, but he hasn't been consistently good. Corr has scored 20 goals this season, and has been a great player for us this season, and in my opinion, far more deserving of 3rd place than Grant.

I blame BarnaBlue. :smiles:

Not guilty.:winking: I didn't vote because I haven't seen enough of the players live.Having said that I thought Barker fully deserved his poty on the evidence of the few performances I've seen.

Defiantly think Barry deserved too be in top three.I like Chris Barker a lot class act in my opinion.

Barker was a worthy winner in my book as he has been the most consistent performer. Corr must be gutted as 21 goals should have got him in the top three. Granty was great for the first six to eight games but I think now is playing within himself.

I think Graham Coughlan has been absolute quality and worthy of a mention. He came here expecting to pay about 10 games all season. very impressed with him.

Probably the dumbest comment of the year! I've never slagged off Corr, but his work rate is iffy at times, probably due to injury, but he isn't in the same league as Freddy. Ironically, the same applies to the Divisions they scored their Southend goals in! :dim:
