No Luton qualified with 67 points in 2012/13. And Kidderminster got 66 2009/10.

We should be celebrating results like today and remembering not to **** the bed every time we only pick up a point in November.

Results count over a whole season and ours were enought to get us over that line. Nothing is finished yet but we are still in the race and that's all anyone can ask for.

There are many on here, including some prominent moderators, who thought we were deluded in thinking we’d reach the playoffs. In fact “nonsense” was one word used about our hopes. Today is for you. We are Southend United and we never give up. Utbs!

Fair enough, but to put it in some perspective. Gateshead lost 10 of their last 13 matches. Without that colossal blow up we would not be celebrating tonight. We will take it though as the whole club deserves a break after last year.

I am one of those who voted no and happy to admit that. It’s one of those rare situations where I am more than happy to proved wrong.

I would not have basked in ‘glory’ had we not made it. I just felt we would not but have always said that I would love nothing more than Kev to guide us to promotion whether I feel he won’t or not.
