This table based on every team's most recent 25 league games appeared on the BBC Lincolnshire Sports website to show how well Boston have done since Graham Coughlan was appointed as their manager 25 games ago. I was surprised to see where we are on that table. I guess it shows how inconsistent all except Barnet and York are.View attachment 36376
I also saw this table and found it very interesting. It further cements the argument that we have actually had a good second half of the season. We are suffering from a torrid first half of the season. COSU are never going to sack a manager with the stats above. It's as simple as that. The first half of the season was torrid for reasons we all know. They will feel that won't be the case with a fresh summer on the horizon.

Out of interest, if you took 30,000 to the Millennium why only 20,000 now if you make the final?
Because, back in the day, we had a load of West Ham supporters that became shrimpers for the day as they have very sad lives otherwise. Unfortunately, we are so close to London, and West Ham in particular, that a sizeable amount of folk in the city are hammers fans.

Thanks for the explanation.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

And please thrash Gateshead on Monday. 🙂
Cheers mate, our current owner is walking away on May 5th, no more funding etc. Apparently we have people showing interest in taking over including a Hartlepool native. With the NDA’s in place no information is coming out of the club but we’re hopeful. Pools/Gateshead games tend to follow a pattern, we lose at their place & they lose at ours but I think our players will be playing in flip flops tomorrow & planning their strategies on how to get a place by the pool before our Teutonic friends get there before them, in short, don’t count on us tomorrow.

Well I hope your guys play with a sense of freedom and enjoyment and overwhelm a nervous Heed. Make them feel as safe as a monkey on your shore....

Good luck with finding a new owner.

If your squad has had enough, any chance you could let Mancini fulfil his dream move to Southend?

If we are only able to pick up 2 points vs the last 3 very average teams we don’t deserve to get to the playoffs. Very poor. Had our chance and blew it sadly

Aren’t the players playing for a contract ? At this level half of the players are a breath away from losing their full time status. It’s odd how unmotivated some are.

I bet Brackley hope they get out of NLN this time. Been looking at their away fixtures, nearest are 27mls, 66mls 93mls and 96mls.The longest are 200mls, 214mls and 235mls. Nearest is Oxford, furthest South Shields.

Staying confident - Southend United midfielder James Morton (Image: Lucy Copsey)

By Chris Phillips. Chief sports reporter.

JAMES Morton still believes Southend United can secure success this season – despite Friday’s 0-0 draw with Braintree Town.

The share of the spoils made it three games without a win for the eighth placed Shrimpers.

But Morton stressed Blues would not be giving up hope of a top seven finish.

“We’ll keep believing,” said Morton.

“We’ve believed all season we can do it and we got ourselves into a good position a few weeks ago.
“We’re still in a position to get it but it’s not in our hands now and all we can do is win all three games we have left.”

The Shrimpers are currently five points off the play-off places ahead of this afternoon’s game at Ebbsfleet United.

And Morton also believes Blues can score enough goals to work their way back into contention despite their recent issues in attack.
“We’ve got good players and a good team,” said Morton.

“In general we played well too (against Braintree).

“Sometimes it goes your way and sometimes it doesn’t.

“On Friday it didn’t and we tried to break them down.

“We tried to mix it up but we believe in our players and squad that we can score goals.

“It just wasn’t meant to be.”

And that left Morton frustrated at the final whistle.

“We probably feel what the fans feel,” said the midfielder.

“It’s very disappointing we couldn’t get the win.

We kept going the whole game and it was our game to get the three points.

“We got the point and now we have to go again on Monday where we have to win.”

And Morton will therefore not be dwelling on Friday’s draw with the Iron.

“We have to put this behind us now and look at the positives,” said Morton.

There are positives we can take and we have to go to Ebbsfleet now and focus on winning.”
