I believe our only two away games against opponents currently above us are FGR and Gateshead on the last day. Most seasons I'd think we'd have a great chance but it all comes down to the tactics and the way we play. Frustrating doesn't really cover it!

I guess our next 5 games will see what our chances are WITH 2 away games against oponants we should beat Then we have a run of 3 home game Iwe can pick up 11 points And remain unbeaten then anything is possable .

To an outsider with probably look like an ok bet but to those of us who watch the inconstancy, and until very recently (league only) tedious sideways football it's hard to get too excited.

We have had out two goal scorers taken away from us mid season and quite frankly replaced them with questionable sighing in Kendall and Hopper (yes he was decent a few seasons ago/ pre injuries) and don't create much from the midfield.

We did I know see glimmers of hope against Fylde and Dagenham but still were guilty of criminal misses which is we are to best Rochdale and Halifax need burying because they won't give us loads of other chances like these two.

It can be done of course but I don't think we quite have it this season.

Can we make the play-offs?....Yes.

Will we make the play-offs?....No

IMO, we just aren't good enough ability wise, in fact I think we are a way off in that sense and I don't think we are strong enough mentally either. We have too many players here that just aren't good enough and a number that have perhaps gone stale and have mentally checked out after the torture of the last year or two.

We need a complete reset over the summer, with some serious recruitment early doors and a good number of "mutually agreed" exits, to give us a realistic shot next season.

This season, unfortunately, was always going to be a bit meh after the delay in sale completion. Next season though, the fanbase won't accept that as a valid reason not to be challenging and rightly so...

This is my main problem too........we talk about making the play-offs like we are good enough to be in there, and therein lies the problem, I don't think we actually are good enough.

The problem in this division is that the top 6 teams are generally beating everyone else. So trying to catch them up is really hard. We would need to go on an amazing run. I don't see it's possible

Yes.

I think we will fall short and end up around 10th, but it’s not impossible. Especially if we can beat Halifax and Rochdale this month.

Well we did beat both those teams away. So surely at Roots Hall we’ll complete two doubles…

With so many games to go anything can happen. Often one or more teams in the lower playoff places will come apart and at leat one team will come from mid table (hopefully us!)

Negativity comes very easy (is almost the preferred state) but as a proof point look at Solihull Moors. Just a few games ago they were in the playoff positions- now they pretty much level with us..

We are 6th in the form over the last 10 games, and the 2 losses have been to Barnet (1st) and York (2nd)

It can be done if the players concentrate on the next game and go out and give it a good ****ing go.

No distractions with any cups, purely focus on the league (as with most clubs in the national league now) and lets see where we are come start of March.

Halifax play their game in hand, at home to Fylde, tomorrow.

Rochdale face Oldham as well. So the gap to the play offs could look a little more realistic by 9.30 pm tomorrow.

All we can do is keep winning, hopefully. I do hope this illness bug has worked its way through the camp, because on current form, we stack up quite well.

Over the last six games, Barnet and Halifax sit top of the tree on 14 points.

Then come a group of teams on twelve points, which includes us, along with Altrincham, Rochdale and York.

Our next opponents, Maidenhead sit in the lower quarter of the current form table, with 2 wins out of six, but never a team to take for granted, that is the best form of the bottom four and they are at home, where they have only lost five of their 13 home games so far and they always seem to be up for games against the higher placed teams giving them a Devonshiring, just ask Chesterfield, Notts County and Wrexham fans amongst others. .

However, keeping it positive, if we were to win on Saturday it would keep us up in the running for the play offs, probably in the region of 6 points adrift after Saturday's games, but the games played will have evened out a little.

Of those around us not mentioned, Oldham have only one win in their last six games, Gateshead have 2, but have not won in four matches, Altrincham one of three teams currently 3 points ahead of us, have won three and have a game in hand, Solihull, who we have a game in hand on now, have 2 wins in their last six, but haven't won in four and drew on Saturday, to end a run of three straight defeats. Sutton, immediately above us have won their last two, after no wins in 4 matches, Hartlepool immediately below us, have only one win in six and we now have a game in hand on them, Eastleigh a point below us have only 1 win in six and lastly Yeovil haven't won at all in the last six, who are also a point below us.

So there are alot of ifs, buts and maybes to be negotiated and current form is not the be all and end all, as there alot of variables involved such as opponents, injuries, transfers in and out and internal club affairs that can influence it.

We can do it, but as has been pointed out the more pertinent question is will we?

Hopefully we will, but the next few weeks will give us a good indication for sure.

Really not bothered about the play-offs, a bridge too far, I just want us to see us play front foot football and begin to give us some hope that next season can begin with positive momentum. Fylde and Dagenham were job done with improved play and that needs to be the norm from now on. Losing is not a problem but, being rolled over without laying a glove on the opposition is. If we scraped into the play-offs I would be flabbergasted. If we got promotion I would be looking for the star in the east that appeared the last time a miracle of the same magnitude happened.

Absolutely this OKA.

it's the manner of defeats such as Altrincham away, Saturday and others where despite our possession we only manage 1 or 2 shots on target in a whole game that simply aren't acceptable.

Most fans will accept a defeat as long as the effort is there. When it isn't, questions start to be asked.

Derby game tomorrow, Rochdale Vs Oldham.

Rochdale have four games in hand but are also still in the FA Trophy, so that will be another game they'll have to play. Not easy at this level with squad sizes and injuries.

I guess we want an Oldham win.

I don’t think so rather give it go next season after watching that display on Saturday can you imagine those players playing in League Two we would be relegated by Christmas
If we was offered a chance to go up at Wembley in May 2025, we must take it, anyway, we would add new players in to make us stronger for League 2.
