Goal Celebration Music - Time For A Change!?

I voted for something different, and thought of Walking On Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves, nice and upbeat, and everyone can join in the "wooooaaah oooohhs and don't it feel good"

Great song, but would rather have it in the build up to the game.

Hey Baby works as a goal celebration song, everybody tends to join in with it.

Hey baby is an awful song and should only be sung if someone has scored a cracking goal.
Chase the sun has a more upbeat feel about it.
Wasn't there a guiness song used which is pretty good, i think middlesbrough used to use it.

I agree with those above who say that if you are trying to encourage people to make some noise at Roots Hall, then why remove the one song that gets everyone singing?

I think Chase the Sun works fine in a small hall to fill the gap between the end of play and Sky switching to an advert break, but when everyone's up on their feet after another goal at the Hall? It doesn't seem to have the passion, the verve and the excitement of Hey Baby (Ooo!.....Ahhhh!....). You need a song that's going to keep people going on their high, I can't see Chase the Sun doing that, personally.

The song that should be played when we score is the Cypress Hill anthem "jump around" (it is called that isn't it??).

The middle section actually says "get out of your seat and jump around, jump around, jump up,jump up and get down, jump, jump, jump jump"

Everyone knows the words, great uplifting choon and it'll look like a scene from a Besiktas home game, how bad's that?:D

Yeah I saw that aswell.....looked and sounded pretty good. Seemed to work....cant be any worse than the seaside song....:p

And I know its probably wrong to post it but here is that little dity...

I remember going to see Southend play at Wolves about 10 years ago and the team run out to this song... its was amazing to be honest.. they played it really loud and the home fans clapped and roared to it... made the hairs on the back of neck stand on end.....

I love a Ska music so that helps....

Yep, liquidator is a pre-match contender. The club have already tried it, but we just need to fine tune the wording to it. So four claps and a loud shout of 'SOUTHEND' at the appropriate moment.

Back to the goal music, does everyone fancy giving it a go? What can we shout at the end of it? Surely not 'Oi, Oi, Oi' like at the darts!

Thoughts?

That song has had the Chelsea label over it since the 70's. We are not Chelsea so forget it.

Sorry its not a Chelsea song.... Maybe ""Blue is the Colour...."" I would agree, most clubs have used it in the past like 70 % of most good songs used by various clubs.... its a classic ska song and very very catchy.....
