Pitch watering

He wasn’t really Discussing or digging out the groundsman. It was something he said in his post match interview. And the pitch was bobbly. Perhaps he said it to shield the players, some of whom were struggling to control the ball?
 
Majority (if not all) decent standard professionals want a slick wet pitch that allows passes to be zipped across the surface.
The less friction when it touches the griund, the truer the accuracy and chance of bobbling on any turf imperfections and faster the ball can be moved around.
The passing and first touch standard on our pitch would be a lot worse without it watered.

Our pitch has been substandard for years.
100% it affects the quality of our football.
Problem being that I seem to remember that it would cost well in to 6 figures to get it sorted, and then a lot more to keep it maintained at that level.
Money I am not sure we have right now.
