Pick a best game for each player (past or present)

Mark Bentley - Away to Gillingham 05/06 Season, SUFC won 2-0.
Benno was here there and everywhere, even scored the 2 goals.

Neil Campbell - Away to Orient 98/99 Season, SUFC won 3-0.
Campbell elevated himself to hero for the day with a couple of cool finishes in a game bossed by SUFC from start to finish.

Sada N'Dieye - Away to Brentford 97/98 Season, SUFC lost.
Great kung fu kick.

Further to my post on the ex-Shrimpers thread, I'd have to go for, somewhat randomly, David "High Tower" Howell ,who was a defensive rock in a hard fought 1-0 win against Middlesbrough at Roots Hall on Sept 11, 1993, 15 years to the day tomorrow.

Kept Bernie Slaven et al at bay all game...great memories.

Now that is a great choice. Poor Dave did not fare so well against Batistuta et al in Florence as I recall.

Simon Royce Southend 5 QPR 0, still a shrimper at heart...

Also worth a mention has to be his performance against West Ham 1-0. How nervous were we when this young lad had to play instead of the ultra reliable Sammy. (Think it was only Roycey's second appearance?) and he could barely kick the ball off the ground, leaving goal kicks to Scully. But he kept the Scummers at bay for a great win.

Regis Coulbault - 1-1 draw away at Brentford. Zidane-esque.

Chris Baker - scored 5 in a 6-1 win at the San Siro against Inter. Oh damn, that was in Championship Manager.

Got to be honest..Eastwood's debut against Swansea at home was a memorable day in his Southend career for me. Scored a hat-trick and showed straight away his potential!

Wasnt one of them goals an open goal from half way??

Brown (gk) and Leon Johnson got in a mix up on the edge of the box, ball broke to Benno outside the box who left footed slotted into an empty goal.

Probably the only goal he'll ever score with his left boot!!

Quality player though, how we could do with the benno of 3yrs ago in our midfield now

Scott Forbes - vs Canvey Island in the FA CUP 2-1 - A fully packed Roots Hall saw super star Scotty Forbes have the performence of a life time and score one hell of a cracking goal.

What a goal, what a performence and quality celebration shame it never worked out for one of the greatest talents to grace the blades of Roots Hall's grass.

Gower against Norwich.. Can remember if he played well and his goal wasnt one of his super strikes.. but as they say 'Timing is everything'

Stanley Vs Huddersfield away in the Cup 2 goals , the 2nd was pretty special - Won 2-1

Dave Martin Vs West Ham - Won 1-0 ( Tower of strength that night )

Billy Best Vs Brentwood FA Cup - won 10-1
