PG Site Services on Twitter again

It's such a shame really. On one hand possibly the best Sponsors we've ever had, considering the League we are in, and all the negative stuff associated with the club and the Chairman. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty, and definitely helped to save the club. On the other hand, all this, the wording, and the way they are handling things. What a mess.

Companies who do fairly extensive DD are in the minority. Most wing it, cutting corners wherever possible to save money. Proper DD costs money. It’s like buying a house: the most expensive purchase most people will ever make and yet people just go with the cheapest conveyancers - or worse the conveyancer recommended by the estate agent - so they end up with a pro forma report written by an unqualified paralegal or secretary, which they then ignore anyway.
Does make you wonder about our Toms role in all this though doesnt it as others have mentioned, given Toms position on their board as a Ned
I believe fairly extensive legally binding contracts were drawn up, but cannot go into detail

The agent provocateurs outside the club and from within are continuing their work, for their own ends, and most people are not opening their eyes to see it.

Agent provocateur: a person who induces others to be violent or commit an illegal act in order to incriminate them or discredit a cause.

So, yeah, what are you getting at?

He’s a Non-Exec. He’s there to provide strategic oversight and review any DD reports not to negotiate the legal terms or conduct the detailed DD himself.

Could it be that PG services are going to announce that they are going to be part owners of the club, to invest needed money.

Its seems to me that they are just as "all over the place" as Ron is.

PG & Ron running SUFC.

Cant we just get a wealthy Yank, who wants the club,
because he loves football,
because he loves the history of the club,
because he loves the fans,
because he has been sucked in to the culture of football,
because he loves an underdog,
because he loves the romance of taking a small club and evolving the club to bigger things
because he wants to sell season tickets for £180 each, (kids for free)

My guess.

Something has upset them. They’ve chatted it over a few beers. Probably have a meeting with Ron at 2pm Thursday. Decided to put some pressure on in the public domain.

They are not your typical sponsor, want to be part of it rather than just a name on the shirt and the comms is very messy. But the causes they are pushing do seem honest and honourable.

We will make an announcement after their announcement which is apparently as per their announcement yesterday to be announced on Thursday unless we hear of another announcement in the meantime which may alter our planned announcement after the non announcement, if no announcement is forthcoming, which of course will then nullify all announcements.

Stay tuned for ermm, I forgot now. Oh yes a possible announcement or not.

I ****ing hope not.

Have I missed an announcement from the Trust? I last saw a statement from the supporters group Tuesday last week. Has there been a further statement or are PG Site Services a little slow getting onto twitter to make an announcement that they will be making an announcement in a couple of days.

Also its 1 sentance. How hard is it to re-read what you have written and amend it to read correctly. "We will be making an announcement"

I also presume they are busy Tuesday and Wednesday which is why we have to wait almost 72 hours for a further announcement on Thursday. Will it be a big announcement or a damp squib.
Agree, although people in glass houses etc, unless deliberate?
That said, if you've got one hand on the barrow at the market stall, it's a little tricky to type accurritelee, eh?

No disputing the fact they have put a lot of money in but the way they conduct themselves is absolutely mind blowing. Have you ever seen another sponsor behaving in the same way they have? Every single social media post they put gets more negative reaction that a positive reaction, they act like spoilt little children and their professionalism is shocking. They had a great opportunity to come out of this whole situation looking very good and enhancing their rep. Fair play on them for the money they have put in but I don’t think that excuses them for their unprofessional behaviour on social media.

To be honest, I don’t look into many other sponsors of any sports team, as I support Southend and no one else.

It’s like saying how comes no one else gets the injuries we get for example. We focus on ourselves so we don’t see the injuries others suffer.

Ultimately, they’ve been the best sponsors we’ve had in terms of financial support, when as a Club, we’ve been at our lowest point.

I agree, their social media use is a bit nuts to put it lightly, but I couldn’t give a monkeys.

BoyWonder2 you say they agreed to be our sponsor for the next 5 years, was a contract signed , if so and they break that contract, do the club have any recourse they can follow for break of contract . I understand they have put a lot of money into the club ,but that by no means gives them the right to dictate to the club ,they have got what they paid for thats naming rights on the shirts.

Of course a contract was signed.

They aren’t dictating anything to the Club. They’ve paid for a lot more than having naming rights to the shirts.

I don’t know what the latest news is as to why we are getting an announcement from them.

IF they are looking to come out of that agreement, it’ll be because of something the Club has or hasn’t done. Now, they maybe taking the moral high ground (this is pure speculation on my part), we might have gone against something in the contract, or who knows.

What I know is there is a 5 year deal, and if that’s broken, there will be more to come out of it. Either we’ve done something wrong, and they can claim their money back and maybe pursue legal action, we they have their knickers in a twist, and we will be the ones pursuing legal action.

Sort of goes with what BoyWonder2 said that they were in talks with a prospective buyer but dont think he can afford to buy everything.

I never said we were in talks with a prospective buyer and they may not be able to afford to buy everything.

Check what I posted.
