Not just the coaches who did a great job, to be fair to Bonne, he also helped Bim become a better striker. He passed on his knowledge to Bim, and really helped him.

Never played a full 90 minutes for us which fuelled the rumour of a January recall always being on the cards.

Well, it is disappointing but it was inevitable Luton would call him back as soon as the goals started to go in.

I genuinely think (and I have thought for a long time) that the bigger issue we have is no-one is really leading the charge forward from midfield. We have not really had this since Ryan Leonard, so it is a long standing problem.

I dont think any of our other front men are as terrible as people are saying, but they just consistently dont get decent service, particularly with the 352 formation. Where Bim has been shining is because he has the ability to pick the ball up fairly deep and then push forward, where no one else is doing that.

Going forward, I would like to see us play more in a 433, with a lot more focus on playing at pace and getting the ball into the box asap!

SOUTHEND United have confirmed Bim Pepple has been recalled by Luton Town.

Pepple scored 11 goals in 23 appearances for the Shrimpers.

But Blues boss Kevin Maher will now be without the forward.

“Bim has been called back which we found out on Wednesday,” said Maher.

“The Bim that came in the building to the one who left shows massive, massive improvement.

“The goals he scored and the work he’s learnt is credit to him and the work that has gone into him here.

“It’s disappointing to lose him but it’s an opportunity for other people to step up now.”

Pepple is now expected to join League Two side Chesterfield on loan for the rest of the season.

But Blues had originally been hopeful the forward would be staying.

“Luton were brilliant to deal with and I think a lot of people at the club were happy for him to be here and wanted him to stay,” said Maher.

“If I’m Bim and his advisors I’m saying stay and play, make sure you play, because that’s the most important thing.

“Good luck to him and he’s going to a league higher but I hope he plays.

“You’ve got to play football at his age.

“He was doing well here and improved but it’s all part of the loan process.

“It had to be done by a certain date before this weekend.

“We’re disappointed to lose him but we wish him all the best.”

Ive seen this a few times but didnt someone confirm a while a go that he was forbidden from doing any interviews or SM by FGR. Seems off i admit and also seems odd that he wouldnt post something if he was able as know from others that he didnt want to leave and was happy to stay but once release clause was triggered he had no choice. I might be wrong but i thought it was something like that

He was very happy at Southend, but when people advise him to talk to FGR, and they offer him silly money, reportedly 3 times the Southend wage, then who can blame him and his agent for going to FGR. Also, it was FGR who wanted him to cut out communication with our fans, etc, immediately once he had signed for them.
